Bladder spasms

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion Archive: Archive July 2005: Bladder spasms
By Juli4 on Tuesday, June 28, 2005 - 08:02 am:

I have been having bladder spasms for about a week now. I went to the doctor and they told me I had a vaginal infection even though vaginally I have no symptoms and gave me antibiotics. The frequent urination and spasms won't go away and I am almost finished with the antibiotics and no improvement. I took azo and it helped, but only short term with the symptoms. Does anyone have any experience with this?

Did they check for a urinary tract infection as well??? I would at the very least, call the doctor back and let them know. And if they didn't take a urine culture - not just the quick dip test - I'd ask for one. It could be that you also have a UTI, and the antibiotics they gave you for the other infection don't cover it as well. If you don't mind me asking, what antibiotic have you been taking? I've had fairly frequent UTI's on and off, all my life. The bladder spasms, frequent urination and burning are THE WORST!

I have had a uti test done and it was clean. They gave me anitbiotics and they are doing nothing that I can tell. I finish them in two days. After I finish I will go back. They are killing me. I am taking over the counter azo and it helps some.
Thanks

I also have had trouble with bladder spasms for years.Ask your Dr.about Urised tablets. They work great for me,and it usually only takes a couple of days .Hope this helps.

How are you doing now? I *think* *I* am getting another UTI. UGH! It sure feels like it, I've been taking Uristat for 2 days and pushing water and cranberry juice. Bladder problems are THE WORST as far as I'm concerned.

By Juli4 on Saturday, July 2, 2005 - 01:10 pm:

I have been taking uristat also and it makes it much better. But when those things wear off it is just as bad as it was. I have not gone back to the doctor though. I just finished my antibiotics and I think from reading that I have inflammation of the bladder or something. My cultures were negative and the medicine didn't help. I will talk to them about urised or soemthing similar. It is THE WORST. It just makes you miserable.

Has your doctor mentioned Interstitial Cystitis?

By Feona on Sunday, July 3, 2005 - 08:55 am:

I was just reading that cranberry pills are better than cranberry juice. Something about the filtering process.

I got one of those bladder infections too. I think I put some bath products in my bath tub and it gave it too me... Like bubble bath. (too stupid)

Last time I was at the doctor he said it was okay to sit in clean plain bath water if you have a bladder infection.

Also,I highly recommend reading THE YEAST CONNECTION .It has a section in there about IC,as well as many many other things brought on by yeast overgrowth.

Feona, you're right about the cranberry pills/tablets. I used to take them regularly, and I've slacked off lately. Wandilu, I've read The Yeast Connection. Yeast overgrowth in your body affects many things, can make you really sick, and bladder problems are one presentation of it.

My sister went through 6 weeks of daily Diflucan and chelation therapy to remove yeast and mercury from her body. She was so sick for years. She actually ended up having a colectomy due to the problems she had for years, many of them due to significant yeast overgrowth. She had systemic yeast and she has to follow the strictist diet I've ever heard of or she gets really sick.

Doing a garlic/acidophiluc cleanse for a month will get rid of a yeast overgrowth. It might be a good idea for your sister, Karen.

Marcia, she's yeast free now. She went through all of this about 6-8 years ago. She eats absolutely NO sugar and only the tiniest amounts of carbs. My DD's have a problem with yeast. Jen has a blood sugar problem, which then turns into a yeast problem in her case. I am learning more and more about this every day, it seems.

How do you know if you have a yeast problem?

I have had sinus infections for about 4 months this year. I think I am allergic to our old house.... (I had a sinus infection for 2 months)

I am not on a low carb diet, I just watch my carbs alittle bit.

Do you have a web site of something I could read?

Looks like you need symptons to have it?
