Eye injury question
I broke a glass thingy in my room while moving my dresser today. Shortly thereafter I felt something in my eye, but I am not sure if it is glass shard or what it is. All I know is that there is now a "bubble" (don't know what else to call it) on the white of my eye next to my pupil. Its bulgy but not huge....anyone ever had this happen to them? Is my eye trying to loosen something or protect itself? It feels funky and I am trying to decide if I should just let it go and see what happens or go to the doctor. Need to work tomorrow and am leaning toward seeing what may come. Any info appreciated.
I think you should go to the doctor and have them take a closer look.
I also think you should go to the doctor.
Ditto!
ABsolutely go to the doctor immediately, before any further damage is done. If it were me I'd call my doctor's office first thing in the morning and leave work for the earliest appointment open. If your doctor cannot see you today, head to the ER.
Kim, My DH had a small piece of metal fly into his eye at work. He had the same bubble thing that you described. He let it go for a while and it wouldn't go away so I finally made him go to the eye doctor. He ended up being diagnosed with something called a pterygium. The doctor just looked at it initially but he has to go in every 6 months to have it checked. If it gets bigger in size, he has to have something done to it. I called him at work this morning to ask him about it and he said to tell you to DEFINITELY go to the eye doctor!! Good luck!
I also had a very small piece of metal in my eye, got it on a camping trip years ago. I went to the eye doctor and they used numbing drops so he could pluck it out, then I used antibiotic eye drops for a week. Don't take chances with your eyes, see someone!!
