I am having problems with my email service. I am able to receive emails, but for some reason I can't send any. I keep getting errors. I called bellsouth help line and they were about as clueless as I am. They old me (like everytime I have a problem with their service) to contact the maker of my computer. What in the world does that have to do with it?? I have had nothing but problems with Bellsouth. ugh!!

What do you have for your server information.

Tools/Accounts
highlight your email account/properties.

Go to server tab

for me it's POP: mail.charter.net
SMTP: mail.charter.net

Would yours be mail.bellsouth.com? I think it's a server setting that is goofy and I can't imagine why they help-line couldn't help you with that.

If you are having trouble SENDING then the problem is with your SMTP server setting.

The POP server is for receiving mail and seems to be working for you.

Thank you guys, I just checked it and now it is working fine. That is what usually happens. Something with this ISP will not work properly and in a few days or hours it seems to be o.k. Weird
