What is it with my mom's house and the ER???
Why is it that every time we visit my mom we end up in the ER??? Robin went when he was 3 for a broken collar bone. Then, Randy went when he was 15mo (just a month later) for stitches in his lip. Then when Randy was 3 1/2 he went twice in two weeks--first time for pnomonia (sp?) and then a week later because he had the flu and was dehydrated. This time was Robin's turn. We went up to the Upper Peninsula sight seeing and Wednesday morning at 4:10am Robin fell out of bed and split his chin open. So we got to visit the ER in Sault Ste Marie! They glued him up and sent us on our way. It was a pretty good split. Probably about 1/2 inch wide. Dh said we can't visit MI anymore if the kids can't come here without getting hurt! lol He's kidding, but it sure seems like there's something about this state... Otherwise, our trip is going great. We had a great time in the UP even though the kids were sort of bored. They just don't enjoy sight seeing like we do. Oh well. They'll get over it. I'll try and check in more now that we're back. We go back to CO next week. One more week at mom's. Hope we can make it though without another trip to the ER (where's some wood to knock on???).
OH nooooo, isnt that just the way it goes. This happens when my mom comes to visit us. Cars break down, kids get strep, one year my son dislocated his shoulder. So know that it is just murphys law and go with the flow. GL and I sure hope you enjoy your vacation.
Cat, that sounds like *me* and my kitchen! LOL Crossing my fingers for you! How's his chin tonight??
Poor guy!!
Oh no, I hope he is feeling better, that has to hurt. I don't know what it is about traveling but we too are always in the ER when we travel.
Just a word of advice..i would get some butterfly bandaids and tape on top of the tape. Chins are notorious for ripping back open because of the muscles right there and the amount of use. The bandaids will help hold it together in the event that it happens again and help keep the scar nice and small.
In our (extended) family you NEVER say "kids stop that running, i'm not going to spend the night at the hospital!" or anything like that. Because every time someone has uttered those words, they ended up spending the evening at the hospital for one thing or another. Luckily I learned that before I had kids so I NEVER say it and we havn't gone to the hospital once. *knock on wood* I hope your son heals quickly!
