Vacations...
Why do they seem to sneak up on you quickly, even though you know you have had it planned for months. We are leaving this Friday for Florida. We will be gone 10 days. We are flying to the Ft Lauderdale area(Coconut creek area, anybody familiar with this town)to visit my parents. We are also going to Disney for 2 full days as well.We bought the tickets 4 months ago, when I paid 101$ round trip(Delta, leaving from Norfolk , VA). I remember being so excited about the price, and thinking, it was so far away... Months passed. Now I sit with 2 days to go. I have a million and one things to do. Im still working on laundry. My husband finally got the suitecases down to start the packing. I still need to go to the bank. I still need to clean some bathrooms.. I wanted to be so prepared this time around.NOPE.. didnt work out that way. Now we have an extra person with us, Faith. It will be her very first vacation. BUT, so much to bring with us, the stroller, pack n play, the carseat, let alone all her other supplies. I wont be relaxed until Im actually sitting on that airplane LOL.. AM I the only one who stresses before a trip? We havent been anywhere since May 2004, when I was 6 months pregnant. My parents are very much looking forward to seeing the kids. They have not seen Faith since she was 10 days old
jackie, i know the feeling we are leaving on sunday , we are going to nags head, nc. we are going for 7 days, we rented a 5 br house with a couple of family members and you are one step ahead..lol, you got your suitcases down.enjoy your vacation.
Jackie and Terri ,it will all come together for you Hope all of you and your families have a great time!
I was a nutcase in the few days leading up to our vacation... Especially trying to keep on top of the laundry! Everyone wanted to take their favorite things, yet they were wearing them.. Somehow, it all comes together. Make sure you have undies, socks and toothbrushes, then relax!!
Jackie, I know *just* what you mean! Every time we have a vacation planned, it seems like it will never be here. Then, all of a sudden, I have a couple days to get the laundry done and everything packed. We are leaving on July 9, and I just realized it is just over 3 weeks!!!! Are you flying into Ft. Lauderdale? I love love love the airport there - it is SO much easier and travel-friendlier than the Miami airport! Especially if you are renting a car! They definitely had convenience in mind when they designed it!
We are leaving i nthe morning to go to MIS for the races and I feel like a nut trying to get everything done. The kids are staying home with my sister and I am nervous I have never left Jade. Timmy will be with us starting Saturday afternoon my dad is bringing him down so DH and I will have 2 days ALONE!!!! OH what will we do? Good luck Jackie and have fun!!
Karen we are flying into the Ft Lauderdale airport. We have flown in there before. We didnt rent a car the first time. We are renting one from there this time.Is it easy? Do they shuttle you to the renta car place? We are renting from Alamo.
The rental car agencies are right there, in the terminal! It is so easy. You just go up an escalator (or elevator) to them, and once you've taken care of your paperwork, you walk out a door into the covered lot and get into your rental car!
BUMP for Jackie
I didnt realize that it was in the airport.. The Alamo website said you have to take a shuttle hmmmm. Guess I will just have to see when we get there.
Yikes - maybe Alamo doesn't have their agency at the airport?? We have rented Enterprise and Dollar (I think!) at that airport. Is there a number you can call to ask? Even if you do have to take a shuttle, it shouldn't be too bad. We had to take them from the Miami airport, and the shuttle itself wasn't bad, but the airport was so big and crowded, it seemed like it took FOREVER.
Vacation??? I'm not sure if i'm familiar with that word. It's been a while since we've had a "real" vacation.
I am with you there Melissa! Enjoy your trip Jackie!
