Well this weekend was horrible. I have 2 birds (blue crowned conures) that I love dearly. Saturday morning I asked my 13 yo dd to go in and give them food and water because I was cleaning the house and she called me and I walked in to the room where the birds are and Sophie (female) was laying on the bottom of the cage dead. I am pretty sure that they were fighting and she fell and broke her neck because her head was almost backwards. I cried all day long that day. When I got the birds I got Sophie first. She was just weined and so sweet. I only bought the male (his name is Presley) so that she would have a companion. Of course I love him just as much now as I do her. I have now brought Presley into the living room in a much smaller cage because I can't leave him in the other room alone. He is so depressed. On Sunday we went to my mil house and we took the dog (Baby Girl) with us because I couldn't leave them alone in the house. Well I left Presley's cage door open while we were gone so that he could play and stuff and while we were gone he got down and was running around the house. When we got home my husband took the dog out of the truck and she darted for the house and ran inside while I was getting the baby out of the car and I heard my DH scream "NO! BABY GIRL NO!" and I knew what happened. I almost died right there. The dog had grabbed Presley and had him in her mouth. She was only trying to play but she could have done so much damage. Luckily DH got her to drop Presley and he only got scared half to death. He was shaking all over when I picked him up. But he is fine now except missing Sophie. I know how he feels. I miss her so much. Everytime I think about her I start to cry. Anyway that was my sad weekend. I hope that everyone else had a better one that I did.
