Birthday Party..again
I'm back asking about my dd's bday party since the date is getting closer. My big dilema is that she wants to invite 4 girls to sleep over and then have the rest of the girls (another 6) come the next day for a party. It's going to be at a campground. I'm having trouble planning for the sleepover group b/c I don't want to duplicate things the next day. Also, what time would I start the next day party. I don't want it to go on forever. Here's what I was thinking so far: Sleep Over Group: arrive around 6pm play around the campsite while dh and I get (about 30 minutes)their sleeping bags and gear in the tent go for a hike (about 1.5 hours as DD wants to hike up a hill) play some more while we get the fire ready Have a fire, roast hotdogs and marshmellows Around 10, go in to the tent and tell stories Go to bed around 11 The next day: Have breakfast and play I thought the other guests might arrive around 11am (this would be a Sunday) Tie dye t-shirts and make camp sun visors Make trail mix Have burgers from the BBQ, veggies, chips and birthday cake. Open presents Go on a scavenger hunt Return around 2:30-party over What do you think?
Can I go? That sounds like so much fun and you planned it great! Sounds like a good idea.
Sure, what's one more...come along Another question: I have bought t-shirts (just the undershirt kind b/c there were so many) to dye and foam visors to decorate with their names and flowers. The shirts were $1.50 each and the visors $1. Should I still do "goody bags"?
I'd skip the goodie bags! You've done enough! Sounds like you have a great party planned.
Thanks Karen..that was the answer I was hoping for It would be fun to make a hobo stick type of goody bag but things start to get expensive with 10 kids.
What a wonderful party idea! I think your dd will have a great time. How old will she be? Will any of the overnight guests get homesick or scared to be out camping? I hope all of you have a great time!
She will be 9, Cori. I don't think any of the overnight guests will be homesick. Two of them were here last year. I'm afraid one of the kids that she wants to invite won't be able to come. I will offer to pick her up and drive her home (she's about 10 minutes out of town) but I'm not sure her parents will want her to come.
Paula that sounds like a wonderful time!! I would skip the goody bags also with the shirts and visors that will be enough. Everyone will have a great time
