Buycruises.com????
Hey guys! All this cruise talk gave me a major bug for one. I was wondering if any of you have purchased a cruise from them. Are they an ok company? I am getting the cheapest quote for the same cruise by several hundred dollars. Also- is this a good deal: 4 night disney cruise to the Bahamas for $3475.95 for 2 connecting stateroom cabins for 5 of us. They told us that we had to get a delux family room or two connecting cabins that accom. the 5 of us. I was hoping to get one stateroom and "sneak" my 2 yr old in! LOL! Doesn't look like I can get away with that! Thanks everyone!
Yes! We love-LOVE them. They have saved us money on our past 4 cruises. Twice we ended up getting a refund! They continue to monitor prices and will get you money back if price drops. They are actually local here though I discovered them online. I HIGHLY recommend them! Yvonne
Thanks Yvonne! You are helping me a lot. If I book a cruise through them, what info do they send for me to get the most out of the entire cruise? Brochures, etc???
Well, you may need to request brochures. I always knew the cruise I wanted and already had brochures. All local cruise agents have brochures so you can walk in and ask for one. Otherwise you can call Carnival or royal Caribbean and they will send one. What itinerary are you considering? I can probably recommend tours for you too. Yvonne
You're so awesome! We are looking to leave from galveston, tx on March 19 for 7 nights. I believe we will be going to Belize (sp?), Cozmel, and Progresso (sp?). What would you say would be the pro's and con's between a 5 day cruise and a 7 day cruise with 2,4,6 year old? The diff. in price is $343.00.
Lucky you! I would love to go to Belize. My doctor's nurse is from there and she told me if I ever went, she would tell me the *local* places to go and see.
OK, the only place I have been on that itinerary is Cozumel. We went to Chankanaab. It is gorgeous and a great place to spend the day. WEAR WATER SHOES! I stepped on a sea urchin and had to go back to the ship. We would love to go back there as our day was cut so short we do not feel like we really saw it. The pros of longer cruises are you generally get lower rates per day. The cons are you may not like being on a ship that long. We have worked our way up going from 4 days to next years cruise is 11 to the Panama Canal. Me personally, the less sea days the better. This is simply because I want to be doing things every day on vacation and the days at sea are a slower pace. My theory is I can relax at home I wanna do things I can't do at home. Granted I live in Florida so relaxing by the pool is not a big deal to me. I understand how people from the north might enjoy it. We have taken our kids on cruises since they were 4. We also travel with my parents so we have a break at night (they watch kids while hubby and I have a night to ourselves). The kids love cruising. It is easy to keep them entertained and to have time to yourselves. I think it is the best vacation for various ages. We are 3 generations that all enjoy ourselves on a cruise.
Ditto on Chankanaab!! It was my FAVORITE place! We rented snorkel gear for $8! Fabulous snorkeling! Lovely, blue, blue water. They have a lagoon area that we hung out by that is all very shallow for kids. Little fish get pushed over the rocks and swim around. My DD loved it!Great food and yummy drinks. You can even swim with the dolphins there. We just took a cab! I could have stayed there for another day! Oh, have fun! http://www.cancuntravel.com/chankanaab.asp We stopped at all of your ports. Belize we went snorkeling on a small little island. Everything is green and lush. We had time to go back to the ship and take a boat into town and do a little shopping. Progresso is one of the newer stops. We did a Ruins tour and it was nice. A family we met just got off and went to a beach and said it was beautiful. There is a small shopping area too, but not much else. You can tell they are starting to build. I personally don't think 5 days is long enough. 7 days was perfect! It lets you settle in a little and get into cruise mode. Even with kids, I think you'll have a fabulous time! I have some photos if you are interested. Just email me.
