Can't Sleep
Argh! DH works second shift and usually comes home after I go to bed. I'm used to going to bed by myself and him coming in sometime later. Yesterday, he had off for the holiday and we went to bed together, which means that he fell asleep, while we watched a little tv. Which also means, that he's sound asleep and snoring, before I ever have a chance to fall asleep, which means I keep waking up, because he's snoring. I swear separate bedrooms sounds better and better, since I sleep so much better if he's not there! Sometimes, he falls asleep in the basement and never comes upstairs. I sleep so good, when that happens. If I can be asleep first, then his coming to bed and snoring beside me, doesn't seem to disturb me as much, but if he falls asleep first, it's just too noisy for me to really get to sleep! So, I got up and did some cleaning, since I couldn't sleep anyway! LOL!
Dawn, I've BTDT!!! Like "All I want to do is sprawl out and sleep in peace and quiet, but he's SAWING logs and driving me CRAZY!!!" Of course, I'm always the last to bed, so it can drive me even more insane.
Wow Dawn, Were you in my bedroom? I always laugh and ask my dh to give me an hours headstart to fall sound asleep. If he goes down before me then I just resign myself to the guest bedroom if I have to have a good nights sleep
Heck that sounds like my house. I get my best sleep when DH leaves for work at 5am and I don't have to get up until 7am. Middle of the bed here I come!!
Well, we don't have a guestroom, so if you aren't in bed, you are on a couch somewhere! LOL!
Oh Boy,do I ever identify with yall !!! And,Tonya ,I do exactly the same.I stretch out in the middle of the bed after dh leaves!!!!Only thing is,we are self employed,so dh has different hrs each day. So,I LOVE it when he has to leave out bright and early so I can MOVE TO THE MIDDLE!! lol
It's sad to say but I have a travel alarm clock....for my house! I am an extremely light sleeper so if dh wakes me up by snoring, I grab my alarm clock and go to the couch or sunroom. If one of the dkids needs extra cuddle time to fall back asleep, I grab my clock and go. It is very rare that I get a full night's sleep. I also will read during the night if I can't fall back to sleep right away.
Emily had a 101 Dalmatians clock a few years back. It is big, red and barks to wake you up! It is out in the living room and I use that if I have to go to the couch. The alarm on my clock-radio doesn't really wake hubby up! We have had a few travel alarm clocks, but they always end up broken. The barking is obnoxious, but at least it wakes you up! Emily has since gotten a nicer alarm clock. The Dalmatian clock is battery operated, so can go wherever it needs to be.
