Already?!?
I forgot to tell you all, but on Sunday, we took Rylee to her swimming lessons, and we found out that this little boy likes Rylee and calls her his girlfriend. It is so cute, but I don't think I am ready for this yet.
LOL Rayanne! They do that until around age 6, then they can't stand the opposite sex.... you get the *EWWWWWWWWWW!!!!* from them if you say anything about *girlfriend/boyfriend*...... THEN - when they approach puberty, you notice them being secretive and even embarrassed when they start actually liking the opposite sex - though with girls, there's also a lot of giggling involved. When Jen was in Pre-K and dancing, her dance class was performing in a Mardi Gras parade. There was a little boy, Anthony, in her class and he was her *boyfriend* - she kept telling me they were going to *get married together*. The parade was near his home and his mom brought him *just* so he could see Jen. When we passed them he ran up to her and gave her an artificial rose while she was performing. It was THE cutest thing! We laugh about it now. It's nothing to worry about right now, but you'd better keep a close watch on things at around age 9 or 10! LOL
My dd is engaged at 4 and has been for at least a year. They have been together since dd was about 6 months old. It's cute. His mom and I take pics of them and laugh about how funny it would be if they really do.
Sami had a little boy (almost two years younger) that had a huge crush on her for about a year. He'd follow her around and always want to hold her hand. Unfortunately, she was already to the stage where she didn't want anything to do with him. She was pretty tolerant but she hated how cute all the moms thought the whole situation was.
When my sister was 5 she "got married" to a 6-year-old who lived down the road from my grandmother, whose house we were staying at for 2 months. I, at age 7, was the minister. The "groom's" 8-year-old brother was the best man. I wanted him to be the minister, but he was too shy. We planned the whole thing out for at least an hour--making a dandelion crown for her, gathering wildflowers for a bouquet, picking the right "romantic" spot, etc. That little boy was so excited I think he almost seriously belived it was for real! (It was his idea, by the way. He proposed and instantly demanded a wedding.)
