Whirlpool Bathtub
Thanks for all your help an the bathroom floor questions. Now I have another one. We are thinking about replacing our current bathtub with a whirlpool tub. Our current tub is narrow, I think 30 inches wide so to replace it will involve moving the toilet and probably putting in a smaller vainty. My question is...do you think it is worth it to have a whirlpool tub? If you have one do you use it? Is it difficult to keep clean? Hard to keep everything working?
I don't have one, but everybody I know who does have one does not use it. They are beautiful and also will increase the appeal of your house should you decide to sell at some point, but you need to do what's best for your family and situation. My parents do have one and they use it, but they're the only ones I know who actually do. We had the option of putting one in when we redid your bathroom, but decided to go for a tiled spa shower instead. Very nice, and more useful. Ame
We have one that is not used at all. I think that if we didn't have a hot tub, it might actually get some use. As it is, it's just a big dust collector.
Oh wow, I would never make the trade for a smaller VANITY and a bigger tub. The vanity is the most important part for me. The bigger the counter for all that STUFF, the better!! And the bigger the storage cabinet underneath, too! My sister has one and it's very difficult to give kids baths in it. It's soooo high and deep that you really hurt yourself trying to reach in. I have no idea how old your kids are, but if they're little you are constantly yanking them by the arms to keep them from falling and hurting themselves. I, myself, only shower and wouldn't use one, but if you are a big bath person, maybe you'd like it.
WE have a jacuzzi tub. I love it. I use it at least weekly. I don't always use the jets, but it is so much nicer than just the garden tub. It isn't any more difficult than a regular tub. I do toss a 1/2 cup of bleach in it about once a month and run it for 15 minutes.
We have a jacuzzi tub, and I LOVE it! Ditto Kaye.
When we remodeled our bathroom, we took the whirlpool tub completely out and put in a large walk-in dual head shower instead. We never used the tub and I don't miss it at all. Personally, I wouldn't sacrifice the space for a bigger tub and moving all that plumbing around could be very expensive.
We do not have one, but 2 close friends do and said that it was terribly expensive and not used. I also can't imagine making the vanity smaller, unless it's already quite big. I love the space for storage and decoration!!!
I love mine and use it all the time! DH AND dk'S love it too!
We don't have one, but have been considering it. I have a bath almost every evening just to relax. Everytime we stay in a hotel with one I love it. I can't imagine not using it if I had it.
