The post about the safety of sublock reminded me that I need to go buy some for this year. We live in a beach community so completely avoiding the sun is almost impossible. Does anyone have a favorite brand for adults or for the kids? There are so many kinds out there now it is always so hard to choose.

I really like the Coppertone Oil Free 35. I think NoAds is good too. I use 30 and above for everyone.

My kids and I have sensitive skin. We've tried several and one of the few brands that doesn't bother us is Coppertone. I like Coppertone Kids in the green bottle.

Thanks for the reminder, Meredith! We need new sunblock, too! I've read it's wise to replace bottles annually as it does have a shelf life and loses it's effectiveness over time.

The only kind I can use on DS is Avon sunblock, they are the only ones he doesn't have a allegic reaction to so that is what we all use.

We mostly use NoAd, SPF 30. I do use Water Babies SPF 45 on the 7mo I watch. I also have some Avon SPF 30 with bug repelant. That's what Robin has on today because they're having their field day at school and they're going to the middle school for it. They have to walk about 1/3 of a mile through a grassy field to get there so I wanted him to have bug stuff on, too. He doesn't react well to bug bites (gets big welts).

We use Coppertone or NoAd. My daughter Sarah swells up with mosquito bites, worse than I do. she is just miserable with them.

I like the NO-AD. I hate paying for the name brand sun screens. I've used this brand for years now. I'm a real beach and pool person and this works well without costing a fortune. I use the baby formula SPF 45 and use it on Nichole and other children when they are in my pool.

I use NO-AD as well, for the whole family. We have to slather up because we are all soooo white. We are the palest family I have ever seen, lol!

I absolutely love the smell of Coppertone, but it costs a fortune. For the past couple of years I've been able to find a no name brand that has the same smell, so it's been win win.
We go through a lot with so many kids, so if I can't find the no name stuff, I buy whatever huge bottle Costco is selling.
