Digital Camera ?
I have an Olympus Camedia C-50 Zoom camera 5 megapixels. I have had this camera for about 2 years and it needs repaired and the estimate is $150.00 (we paid around $500 for this camera). I am wondering if I should pay for the repair or take the $150 and apply it to another-different camera. I really don't like this camera very much..the LCD screen is too small and many times the photos will appear to be in focus on it but when I download them to the pc they are really out of focus. Do I repair this one or use the $150 to apply towards a different camera?
I say put it towards a new one. You don't like this one and it doesn't work like you want it to so you should get something you are happy with not spend money on something you are not happy with. JMO!!
Personally, I'd put it towards a new one. Something many people are now aware of - when you transfer your photos from the memory sticks/cards to your computer or wherever, you should reformat the memory stick/card. I learned that from the classes I went to. Do it several times. Even when you delete everything from the sticks/cards, there is *noise* left over, and that will affect your picture quality. So you should reformat them 2-3 times before you take more pics.
I would get a new camera too. Post the old one on ebay and see if anyone will take it off your hands, making sure that they know it needs repair.
I agree get a new one = )
People buy camera stuff, all the time, on Ebay, even camera stuff that doesn't work! My DH has been unloading our stuff that we don't use anymore and everything has sold! (Of course, he says, right up front, whatever is wrong with the item!) I would get a new one! That seems like too much to pay for a repair, when a new one isn't that much more!
I bought a Canon G2 on Ebay, and sold my low end Kodak, for a pretty good price. It was working, but I saw LOTS of people buying non-working cameras for repair or parts. Go for it!!
