Pi Lambda Theta
I just got a letter saying I was nominated by my university to this honor society for educators. Anyone ever heard of it? They claim to be the oldest and most selective international honors society for educators. It does say you need a GPA above 3.5, so that seems like it's something. Does anyone have any experience with honor's societies? Sorry- it's not in my schema! I'm such a cynic- I'm just trying to figure out if it's for real- or just a scam (they want $32.50 for a yearly membership fee.)
I've heard of Pi Lambda Theta and know it's legit, but that's all I can tell you. Have you tried a Google search? They must have a web page.
Yes, I was a member myself, and still am for professional reasons. You can maintain your membership with dues or not, you're still a member, just not considered active. After I graduated from college I didn't pay for years. Then I just started last year again because I needed a professional affiliation reference for a job I was looking into at the time. It's legit! It is one of (if not the top)honor societies for edcuators. There will be an induction ceremony. Congratulations!!!
I'm an *educator* and didn't catch my misprint. Haha!!
I did check out the web page. It sounds good. Actually, they have lots of scholarship opportunities, which is cool. So.... I guess I should be excited! It's great to "chat" with fellow edcuators! LOL! Just kidding! I'm in a goofy mood...
