Did you ever have one of those day????

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion Archive: Archive May 2005: Did you ever have one of those day????
By Kernkate on Thursday, May 12, 2005 - 08:17 pm:

Not bad enough my neighbors are keeping me awake all night with their nonsense, but maybe some of you remember "my Friend" that was giving us problems about the window being broke on a car she bought from us?? Well tonight she calls yelling about something happening with the car. She bought this car over 2 months ago off of us, and now saying that she is going to take us to the magistrate because the car broke down today....MY NERVES ARE SHOT!!! Sorry for yelling but thats the point I am at right now! It was a older car she bought an '89, DH gave her a 30 day warranty, which he didn't have to on used car, but being nice he did, now over 60 days has passed and she is Yelling at me on the phone!!! If
she calls here one more time I am going to flip!!! They say when it rains it pours and it's the truth for the last week! And I am not even PMSen it!
Sorry for venting twice today but its just one of those days!!!
Sorry:( Since August when mom passed away it just seems like everything is so aggravating to me, and this nonsense I am going thru today is just too much!
If you read this far thanks so much for listening.

(((Kathy))) You have way to much on your plate. Do yourself a favor and get caller ID and stop taking this "friend's" calls. I hope you find days of peace soon.

First of all, *if* she takes you to court, I doubt she will have a leg to stand on in this case.

I agree with Colette, stop taking her calls!

You've had a lot to deal with in the last year, you need some down time. Start by not talking to this *friend* anymore, you don't need the stress.

By Jelygu on Thursday, May 12, 2005 - 08:44 pm:

(((kathy))) Vent away, she would drive me crazy too. I agree with Karen, she wouldn't have a case. Ignoring her is a good idea.

By Kernkate on Thursday, May 12, 2005 - 08:45 pm:

I do have caller ID, guess I have to screen all my calls. Her # as many others come up as private.
If I do get anything from her and\or the magistrate I am going to file harassment by communications charges against her. I am really ready to do it now. Enough is enough already with the "no more friend". Because she is a whack and I am finally realizing what people have told me about her. I always give people a chance. Stupid me!!
I need some down time but just can't seem to find it:( This past year has been a terrible time for me!
Sorry for whining.:(

I need some down time too... When you figure out how to get some let me know.

I agree, stop taking her calls. I had a private number block put on my phone and I love it.. A few years ago we where having issues with an ex sil (had her minor daughter living with us). I had the block put on and she stopped calling. I was hoping she would keep calling, I would have walked into court with my caller ID box ready. LOL Well worth the extra money...

By Kernkate on Thursday, May 12, 2005 - 11:53 pm:

Bobbie, I think a nice 1 week cruise would be good for all of us right about now!! I think there is a way to put a private caller block on your phone line, I just have to check it out.

By Emily7 on Thursday, May 12, 2005 - 11:58 pm:

Is your dh a car salesmen? If he isn't then he didn't have to give her a warranty. She is just blowing air if she thinks you are resposible...the car is now her problem. It sounds like she is just a big bully trying to scare you into giving into her. I would tell her that if she calls you one more time you will file charges so fast it will make her head spin. Call your phone company & see if they can block her number.

By Kernkate on Friday, May 13, 2005 - 12:20 am:

Emily, I wish DH was a car salesmen!!! He would be making way more money then he is now:)...LOL
I have to check into the block tomorrow.
After dealing with the window situation and now this I am thinking she is just looking for money! JMO
I was warned how she could be but never believed it till now!!! STUPID STUPID ME!

I have this thing on my phone called privacy manager if someone blocks their # whe nthey call they go throughthis automated this that makes them state their name so when you answer the phone you can push #1 and hear who it is and you have the option of chosing #1-3 on your phone
1. Is to take the call after hearing who it is
2. Is to let the caller think you are not home and it will tell them no one answered even when you did
3. Is a message saying this home does not take sales calls so please stop calling

You get to choose allot of sales calls don't bother when this picks up and the phone never even rings in your home unless they sit through it and say who they are.

This feature is great!!!!

I might consider sending her a certified letter stating any further contact regarding the car is grounds for harrassment and you will file charges. That might cool her jets a bit. As far as a law suit is concerned she is totally blowing hot air. For a 89 it is really let the buyer beware, it isnt like the car is fresh off the showroom floor.

By Emily7 on Friday, May 13, 2005 - 12:04 pm:

Depending on the state that you live in there is no expressed warranty when it comes to used vehicles & private sales. That is why you take them to your own mechanic before you purchase.
I think the certified letter sounds like a great idea, she shouldn't be allowed to continue to harass you over things that aren't your problem. Who is to say it wasn't her driving that caused the problem with the car.
