I got a Job!!!
I'm so happy. Actually, i've had 2 other jobs in the last few weeks that I backed out of at the last minute because they just didn't feel right. Now I know why! I start my job on the 16th of this month as a Pharmacy Technician!!!! I'm beyond excited. It's part time and the hours are incredibly flexible. My boss agreed to the pay I wanted even though I asked for a higher amount than I thought was the norm. It will help me tremendously in getting ready for my certification test in a few months. I feel so relieved and will actually have money that *I* earned so I won't feel so bad when I wanted to get something for myself occasionally.
I am so happy for you sweetie. I know how bad you wanted something, and I am so glad that you got it.
That is great! I am so happy for you!
Right on! I'm thrilled for you. I worked in a small pharmacy all through high school and I loved it!
Awesome!
Congrats Best of luck! And who will be watching DD? I know that was a big concern of yours.
Thanks for the Congrats! Kernkate- We actually worked it out so that DD is only being babysat for a few hours at the most, then DH will pick her up. My friend is watching her (the ones who's son I watched for free, and the same one I conveniently have to pay now.) She will only be there for about 2 hours before DH picks her up. My schedule is super flexible and the boss was very understanding of me having a child and family coming first so this is definitely something coming from God. He even gave me Sundays off to continue going to church and have our "Family Day" tradition DH and I made last year.
Will you be working in a hospital, chain store or independent store or something else? I'm really excited for you. And it will be great experience for you as you prepare for your tests. Did you you ever get a study book? Congrats!
My cousin has been working in a pharmacy for several yrs and she *loves* it. Also, a friend from high school (i have bumped into her 2x in the last yr) has been working in the same pharmacy for 10 yrs now!!! She always says she loves it. Congrats and good luck!! It means alot to have flexible hrs and an understanding boss when you have little one's. I tried going back to work part time one yr (when blake was 2). You would have thought my house was going to fall apart and my dh and boys were soooooooooooo whiney the longer I worked. As soon as I quit the job (my dh finally asked to me quit the job!) everyone was happy again *rolling my eyes*... Tried doing the school thing too... Again, very whiney boys and dh the whole time. I finally woke up one day and realized that if we can afford for me to stay home and run the house/kids/etc then I should just shut up and enjoy it and quit trying to add more stress to my life... lol I would love to do something part time from home one of these yrs... I hope it works out better for you!! With only one child and your dh being *supportive* that will be so helpful for you.
Melissa thats great that everything has worked out so well
Hooray for you
Debbie, i'm actually working through Long's drugstore. I bought the study book you recommended as well as another one I thought looked good.
That is great news Melissa, I have a friend that works as a Pharmacy Tech & loves it.
Congrats! Sounds like you got a good job with a good boss. That doesn't happen to often!
Well, I guess my search for a sitter begins now. My friend just called and told me she had the little boy shes watching locked in the room because he keeps crying for him Mom and she's not going to put up with that!!! That does NOT go over well with me and I will NOT risk DD going through that. So, I still want to do this job and I hope my search turns out well.
Oh Melissa, I would watch Kaitlyn in a heartbeat if I lived close. I hope you find a good sitter. Maybe you can find a good daycare that you know will be good with her. Some daycares around here will let a child go part time, if that is all you need then your DH can pick her up. That is aweful fo that woman to treat a child like that just for wanting his mommie.
If I were you, I think that I would be telling that other mom what she has done. No one should be treating a child that way for wanting his mom. Good lord, no wonder he wants her.
That is awfully traumatic for a child!!! Makes my hair stand on end. I thought your mom was going to watch her??? I must have missed a lot this week! LOL
Congratulations on the job! She locked the little boy in a room? Grrr.
Yes, i'm going to tell that little boys Mom without my "friend" knowing I did. Karen, that was the original plan until we remembered that my Mom needs to work full time in order to have and afford medical/dental coverage for herself and my brother. I'd love for my Mom to watch her though.
