Need teacher appreciation help
This week is teacher appreciation week at our school. Dd has a male teacher this year and I have the hardest time coming up with gift ideas for him. In years past, I have always had flowers delivered to her teacher, but for some reason, I don't think he would be thrilled at getting those. Can you all give me any ideas of a little something to get him? Dd already wrote him a little note in a thank you card, but I would really like to get him a little something too. Any ideas??
How about a gift certificate to a book store? My kids just gave their teachers gifts today. I was able to get two mini rose plants for FREE with 2 gold coins at our grocery store. Woo hoo!
We do a whole week here. monday was bring a flower day, tuesday we did breakfast for all the teachers (pta sponsered), wed the pta did small gift bags for each one, thursday the pta is doing a lunch and a class parent or two will be babysitting for a bit so they can enjoy the lunch. Not sure about friday. I appreciate my teachers and don't mind sending in flowers, but we do a big end of the year gift for those teachers that were top notch, I hate feeling like i have to get something else! So men teacher ideas...i say you can't go wrong with a gift certificate, book store, pet store, oshmans, home depot. You could buy him a small flashlight with a cute note about helping light your child's future. That could be as nice or cheap as you want.
As a teacher, although female, I can say that I think a gift cert. for a bookstore (even $10, doesn't have to be a lot) is a great idea!
Also love the little flashlight idea!
I made a male teacher a gift basket with homemade brownies, candy, etc. He loved it.
Thanks for all the great ideas ladies. I am going to put some of them in my memory bank for the end of the year gift. After talking with dh and dd about it tonight, we have decided on a Sporting Goods gift card. That way he can use it for either himself or something for his family. Thanks again for the great suggestions!
One year, I got gift cards from Blockbuster and bought small boxes of microwave popcorn. Both teachers loved them!
