I need some ideas...
...for my son's preschool teacher. This was his first year in an actual school setting and she just set his school life off perfectly. He absolutely loves her. He looks forward to going to school just to see "Ms Jan" everyday. I really hate to see him have to move on next year. Anyway, I wanted to get her something nice at the end of the year. Any ideas??
Last year, I got a wonderful idea from this board as a matter of fact and did it for my DD's pre-school teachers, I got a pot and a plant but before I planted the plant I painted on the side of the pot and it read, "Thank you for helping me grow, Love, Kelly" I then put a clear gloss paint over it so the paint wouldn't get messed up and put the plant in the pot. It was a huge hit!! I think I might be doing that again this year.
How neat!! I think she would love that! Thanks
Amy that is a very nice idea.
That is a cute idea!! All this yr for holidays, etc my ds has taken his preschool teacher a bouquet of flowers. He gets so exited to take her flowers, it is the sweetest thing. She is probably 65 yrs old and he just loves her to death. We may do the plant in a pot gift idea for the last day. He will love painting it and helping plant something in the pot! I was thinking of getting her a gift cert for a massage or manicure/pedicure too.
http://www.findgift.com/gift-ideas/pid-6206/ I got this for Brett's teacher last year and she just loved it. We put it in a frame and it hangs in her classroom.
I liked that site I saved it in my favorites! Thanks!
As a pre-school teacher, I love to get letters from parents thanking me for being their child's "first" teacher.. it means so much.. I keep them in a file folder...they really are a reminder of why I teach...plants for my yard are great...so are gift certificates to Borders or a teacher store....I would stay away from home decor stuff...everyone's taste is so unique and unless you have been to the teacher's house it would be quite a risk...it really is so nice of you to want to do something for her...I am honored each time a family remembers me..
As a former teacher, I loved gift certificates, especially for pampering type things I wouldn't buy for myself because of how much I got paid. Pedicure, massage, facial, or even a gift certificate to a restaurant...BIG hits with the teachers. I was SO thankful!!! You might even want to go "in" on a gift with someone else too that appreciated her as much as y'all.
My boys did the flowerpot a couple of years ago and it was a huge hit. The kids had a blast painting and planting.
