I was left "eating my daughters dust" in a 1.5 mile run......

I had a baseline data day at the gym (starting a 10wk program). My soon to be 7 yr old daughter weighing a full 42 lbs and no clue how tall, but everyone thinks she is 4 or 5 yrs old...very petite daughter left me in the dust within seconds of starting the run. Before we started she asked "Mommy, do you mind if I don't run with you the whole time?" I said sure thinking she meant wanting to walk some (HA!). Then she says "am I allowed to run ahead of you?" "Sure" I say thinking I would be able to see her the entire time due to her slowing and taking some walking breaks. HA!

I honestly couldn't even come close to keeping up with her. She was gone out of my view before the first lap was complete. (there are coaches thru out the 'track' watching so she is safe.) She was in the lead, and I mean LEAD of all the adults. Her running partners were a man and one woman who is a very athletic gal and also one of the coaches. She stayed there until completion. She forgot her time, but it was somewhere in the 13 minute zone. That is 1 and a 1/2 MILES! She ran the whole thing without stoping! She never lost her lead, well, except for the woman coach, bt only by a few seconds.

I won't mention my time here, but I was last off the course. My worst time ever. I've never been last at this. I'm blaming it on childbirth and pregnancy :) Age, I'm sure, has nothing to do with it.

Anyway, I am just so super proud of my tiny little girl! I was such a loser in sports so I am excited to see that DD will probably not have to indure being one of the last kids picked on a team. I think we will groom her for track in middle/high school. I think she has a great chance there.

That's so cool. Track would be really good for her. Yes, go ahead and blame it on the pregnancy...that is what I am going to do..lol

Kids are so energetic around that age, somedays I think my girls could run all day and never stop!
