Teachers, HELP grading, feeling stupid....
Ok so I am taking a chemistry course. The final grade is dependant on 15% on quizes, 40% on exams, 10 % on assignments, and 35% for the final. How do I figure out what my final grade would be? Say I averaged 85% on the quizes 90% on the exams, 80% on the assignment and got a 75% on the final. How do I figure all this out. TIA
I'm not a teacher but this is how I figured it: 0.15 * 85 = 12.75 0.40 * 90 = 36 0.1 * 80 = 8 0.35 * 75= 26.25 Add up the last column for a total of 83 83% I don't know if that is correct but it makes some sense. Because I know that if I take two tests worth 50% each and one is a 90 and the other is an 80, my average will be 85. 90* .5 =45. 80 * .5 = 40. 45 +40=85. I'm surprised that I didn't plug in the names of some limb muscles, as I am taking a study break from cramming for my anatomy lab practical.
PS- I HATE chemistry. 2 semesters of inorganic + 2 semesters of organic + 1 semester of biochemistry = YUCK!!!!! Good luck!
Kellyj--why did you take so much chem if you hate it? I hated it too, but I wanted to be a pharmacist and had to get thru it. And never use it now!
It was required for my major and I needed it for the program (physician assistant) that I am in now. It got better as I progressed...but the first three semesters were killers!
Yea I am going to sell my chemistry book on ebay w/ the this description: "Like new except for tear stains" lol Still have three terms of anatomy and physiology and 1 term of microbiology to go.
I wondered if you were working on some sort of medical degree. A & P I liked and micro wasn't too bad. It's something more tangible for me. Chem is all forms---UGH!
