Sunless tanning lotions.....
It's about that time again for the legs to come out of hiding.........what is your favorite brand of tanning lotion?Any funny stories? I remember when the stuff first came out, it was called Q.T. I was orange for weeks!
I've never tried tanning lotions but have heard people rave about Jergens Natural Glow. Jergens.com I remember my mother trying tanning lotions and looking orange. LOL!
I love Bath & Body Works tanning foam. Natural color and nearly streak free. Since it's a foam, it dries super quick so no waiting around before dressing. I've been pretty lucky with tanners. I have smeared it across the top of my feet and gotten stripes on the tops of my toes because I didn't rub it in.
I used one of these and my white shirt got stained. Also my white socks. The color goes off to the white clothing. Does anyone find this? It happened even the next day.
I have never had any problem with it coming off on clothes. I like Bain de Solei's brand. But I have heard lots of good things about Bath and Body works stuff too.
I just started using Neutrogena Build a Tan. I've never used sunless tanning lotion before, so this if my first try, but I really like it so far.
I have heard that Lancome has a good one. I think I am going to go to a spray on place this week. My neighbor has been going and she looks great and likes it. I definitely cant go to the tanning beds anymore. My skin looks horrible from going.
I would definately never go in a tanning bed. I tried the neutrogena last year and it was to dark for me - I am very fair - but I just bought Coppertone's endless summer light/medium and it's great. No orange, very natural looking.
Tanning beds are still tanning....harmful rays and all.
I have a friend who also does the spray on tan and she looks WONDERFUL. If I had the time, energy, $, or gas $ to go (we live in the boonies) I'd try it. It looked sooo natural and no damage to the skin. I'm making a committment to always protect my skin from the sun whenever possible. I was never a sunbather (red hair and fair) but like to work in the yard a lot and often went to the tanning bed. I have to admit, I think the tanning bed is soooo relaxing and I do miss that!!!
I have never had any luck with tanning lotions or creams, but the Mystic tan worked fabulous. This summer I am going to try the high pressure bed at the tanning salon. I vowed that before I died I would be tan for atleast a month!! LOL
I loved these when I first started using them. So! Much!! And then I realized (word of caution to anyone going through the same) that I am, sadly, horribly allergic. My legs would start to itch like the dickens, if the dickens were tiny little prickly bits of itching powder buried in my pant legs that somehow became relevant over several weeks. I always attributed it to, oh, I don't know, dry skin, summer weather, some late-age onslaught of eczema. Not the case, alas. As soon as I stopped using self-tanners, it disappeared. I tried all brands, too. So: word of warning...if you're itching and using these, think twice. Grrr. I wish there was a substitute, but I've tried most of 'em...
PLEASE ladies, don't do a tanning bed!!!!! You are NOT protected from skin cancer with them. You DO get the harmful rays. Being tan is so not worth skin cancer. My dad loved to tan and even wore sun screen way before it was the thing to do, but he tanned. Well, he doesn't look too pretty now. Just don't do it.
I did the Mystic spray on last year before a formal affair. It looked great. People really thought I had been out in the sun. It did start to look a little streaky when in was going away but not too bad.
