about I year or more ago I posted on the prayer board about my brother needing a kidney and pancrese. Well at 1 a.m Wednesdat I get the phone call from my brother we are on our way to little rock. they have a perfect match for me. Well he got there around 6 that morning he had to have a bunch of tests to make sure everything was a go.A few scares along the way. So at 10 Wednesday it was a go. He didn't come out of sugery until 6:30 that This morning. He is doing excellent they put the new kidney in and it started producing urine which is really really a good sign. the new pancrese is doing its job when he went in his blood sugars were 300-400 and this morning it is at 100. they are both doing there jobs he is doing really really good. The Dr. Said that he has never seen a patient bounch back as good as he is doing. He told the nurses that he would be up running the halls tonight. so the nurse said good because we will have you up walking in the halls. The Dr said if all goes as good as it has been that he might get to come sometime next week. I think we are all still in a daze we are all going on about 3 hours sleep. It will probably hit us sometime in the morning that this has all happened. 5 years waiting and all the sudden its done is really something. They lord sure answered our prayers. it took awhile but it was all done for a reason.
can you all say a prayer that everything keeps going as good as it is.

Prayers for you and your family and the donor family. Things do have purpose and meaning even if we are not sure what they are. And as one of my favorite bumper stickers says: "recycle yourself, be a organ donor"

Thank you all so very much. I called my Mom this morning he is still doing really good. They have him up but not walking yet. He is really sore. but he has a very positive out look. The Doctor came in last night to check on him and my Mom and Dad were in there and the Doctor asked Mr. Long have you passed gas yet and he said no but he had 2 old farts in the room with him did that count. which gave them all a good laugh. thats him though always cracking jokes.
