Thank You Note Required for Thank You Gift?
I'm drawing an etiquette blank here!! Every week for the past eight months I have volunteered in my daughter's church club. Last night was the last night and the two leaders gave me a 'thank you' potted tulip plant and a card. I thanked them both but I didn't open the card until I got home. I was surprised to find a $10 gift card to a local bread bakery inside. Should I write the two ladies a thank you note for the plant and gift card? I'm just confused since the gifts were thank you gifts. It SEEMS like I should write a note, but then it sounded odd to thank for a thanks....
I would say yes. I don't know if it is the proper thing, but I would do it. I think you should always thank for a gift, reguardless of what it is for.
I would give them a little note to thank them for the gift and let them know how much you enjoyed "working" with them and that you appreciate all they did for your daughter's club.
Yes. Something to the effect of, you were so sweet to give me the plant and gift card. Volunteering was my pleasure and priviledge.
Jann has good wording. Send the thank you to the two leaders but address it to the club as a whole.
I would send one too.
I would do what mommyof4 said
Thanks ladies! Just wrote out the two cards. Now I hope these two women don't just happen to be 'lurkers' here!!! LOL!!
