Shouldn't Luke be sitting by now???

Moms View Message Board: General Discussion Archive: Archive April 2005: Shouldn't Luke be sitting by now???

I am a little concerned about Luke. He is 10 months old and can only sit if you put him into the sitting position. He can't get there himself. Should I worry? When did yall's babies start to sit?

By Andi on Saturday, April 9, 2005 - 11:21 pm:

Taylor is 9 months and she can get herself into the sitting position from laying down or from crawling. All babies start things at different times so I wouldn't worry to much.
Call the Pediatrion on Monday and ask them, if there is something to worry about they willl let you know otherwise, I'm sure he will start soon.

I agree with Andi. All babies do things at different times, but if you are concerned, talk to the doctor. That's what they are there for.
Christopher could sit up when he was 6 months old, but it was until 9 or 10 months that he figured out how to get into the sitting position from his tummy or back.

Connor is 9 months old and cannot get there from his tummy or back. I think it depends on height and weight. Connor is quite large for his age and larger babies have a tendency to crawl/sit up later in time.

It was a long time before Randy could sit up on his own. I think he was already cruising before he could sit up on his own. If you put him in a sitting position, he had no trouble staying there. Ditto Heidi - big kids take longer. They have so much more to move :).

Ditto everyone above, check with the doc, but don't stress about it, all kids are different.
