I'm now 9wks postpartum. It seems my period is already coming back. Although I do not produce enough milk to sustain babies desire, I am nursing at each feeding and he is getting anywhere between 2-4 oz of milk. Why would would my period already be on its way? I produced only drops w/ DD and nursed for 8 months. My period started a week after we quit. I am so not ready to deal with that monthly time already.

I nursed both of mine for about 6-7 months. My period came back at 4 months with both of them.

From talking to many nursing women, its so different for everybody. I know friends who only nursed, no bottles no formula, and got their periods back with 2-3 months.
Faith is almost 8 months old, and only eating solids twice a day(nursing 6-7 times a day), and I Just recently(2 days ago)got my period back.

Yuck. I was hoping it was not common and my chances of it starting so soon was wrong. Oh well. The worst of it is I had a bleeding polyp during my ENTIRE pregnancy, so I was wearing a full pad or a panty liner everyday for nine months!

Yes, it's definitely different for everyone. I BF DS exclusively for 6 mos. and got my period back when he was 8 mos.. DD nursed for 16 mos. and I got my period back when she was about 8 or 9 mos..

Mine came back right away, and though I was nursing both kids, it wasn't exclusive.
