World Series
I think I am taking the kids out of school today so they can see the Red Sox World Series trophy. They are traveling around the state with it and today it will be at our library for 1 1/2 hours. I imagine the line will be nuts, but I think the kids will have fun and be surprised at getting dismissed.
That's a great idea. The kids will love it, and it is an event that may never happen again in their lifetime. Don't take that wrong, I just mean that about anything. It will also be educational in itself and they will have so many good memories of things like that.
I would do it! It may be a once in a lifetime opportunity! LOL. Dh took our oldest out of school a couple of years ago when the Sox came to Oakland in the playoffs. Ds had his hat signed by Jason Veritek. Jason saw Alec on the side with his Sox hat, ran over, signed just his hat, and went back to warming up. It was a huge deal for ds. Take the kids and have a ball!
OH, my DS would LOVE that!! DH would, too!
Did you go? How was it?
I am glad I did not mention it to the kids. I drove by the library on my way to get them, the line was out the door and down the street 45 minutes before it was even scheduled to get there. I had been told that they only stay the 1 1/2 hours and if your in line and the time is up they just leave and you don't get to see the trophy. So...unfortunately we didn't go.
Bummer!! But at least you didn't stand in that line only to find out you couldn't see it. Oh well, the thrill was in them finally winning!
My sister's BIL had the trophy in his restaurant (in Boston) last weekend for a private party. My sister and her dh went along with many friends. I guess the guy in charge of it wanted and received a geat table in this restaurant and sister's BIL flippantly said "if you bring in the trophy LOL" and the guy agreed! Bummer you couldn't see it. Hopefully you'll get another chance. Where will it be on display for the long term? Maybe you can go see it then. BTW, my sister tried to get us bleacher seats for this summer when we come up north. They now cost $45.00 IF they are not sold out! OMG, when I was in my early 20s we went all the time on a whim. They only cost $5. Look what happens when you win BIG! LOL She did mention something about a tour though, for $10. we may try that instead.
Wow! $45 for bleacher seats? That's just crazy!
