Any experience with NetZero or PeoplePCOnline?
I am thinking of changing ISPs. I have been with RCN (formerly Errols) for about 7 years and am rather disgusted with some of the things that happen to me, especially their billing practices. Both NetZero and PeoplePC are a lot cheaper, and both have several access numbers in my area that would not be toll calls, but I have no idea how reliable they are. Any experience?
I have experience with netzero, and at first, it was a good exeperience, but as time went on, the service went downhill for me, constant disconnections, slow connections, and trying to call them was difficult too. I ended up finally switching to DSL, I really didn't want to pay the extra for it, but now that I have it, is soooo worth it! I would never have dial up again!!!
I agree with NetZero. I had that a few years back and wouldn't do it again for anything. Same problems as Jodes. Unless they have come a long way in the past couple of years, I would stay away.
My best friend had Peoplepc and hated it...very slooooowwwwww. They couldn't wait to get rid of it. My inlaws had netzero and had tons of trouble with popups all the time (maybe could get a popup blocker for that)but I used it several times and again, very slow. Creeping. I agree with Jodes...we went to cable, it's more expensive for sure but now that we have it I can't imagine doing dial-up again unless we were flat broke!
I am on People PC, I use the accelerated. I have had zero problems with it and I have been with it for almost a year, I believe it has been. And I have everyone in my family using it now, my mom and step dad just switched over yesterday. And I had netzero a long long time ago... And it was bad service. Constant disconnects etc.. BUT that was a very long time ago as I said... And I am sure... they have upgraded like everyone else has... And as far as the Cable, it would be great if I could justify spending the money on it but I can't and won't be on a Cable any time soon.
