Contact lens wearers
I just got my contacts yesterday. I had them about 14 years ago but I wore them rarely. I had to get weighted contacts because of my astigmatizim (sp). I noticed after wearing them for about 1 hour that my left eye seemed blurry a little. I called the eye doctor and he said to give it some time to settle on my eye. Okay, today sometimes that eye is blurry other times it is fine. Both eyes seem to dry out quicker and I can feel them on my eyes. Is this normal because I'm just not used to them? Is it something I just have to get used to? Oh, and since they are weighted do you have to put them in a certain way or do the weights automaticly position them.
I've never worn, or even heard of weighted contacts, but I can tell you that my contacts never dry out and are never blurry.
My DH has the stigmatism (who knows how to spell it) and when he put his in they were all blurry, uncomfortable, etc. He hadn't worn them in 15 + years. He fought with them for about a week, when in to the doctor's office & said these are awful. I can't see, etc. Oh, they forgot to tell him there is a line on the contact that has to be aligned just right or they will be blurry. I don't know if that helps or not, but he's been fine since. Well, he can't wear them at night, but daytime use is fine.
Wait a week, if you are still having problems go back. You may have to try multiple pairs before you find one that works. Try Clens 100, put it in when you put your lenses in. Wait 1 hour before you get up in the morning (if you can) before putting your lenses in, that's what my opt. told me anyway. I found a pair that worked wonderfully for me a few years ago, I re-ordered and they no longer worked. I have found another pair, but if I had to wear them all day long for work and use the computer they would not be good enough. I have yet to find a satisfactory solution. I don't think you have to put them in a certain way, if they are weighted they should adjust in your eyes. The blurriness is caused because the contact is not stable on your eye, it moves around. Could also be caused by dryness. Good luck.
I had to recently switch brands because of dryness, and I have slight astigmatisim. I agree that you should go back, because different brands can really make a difference in comfort.
