Wireless computers
I'm moving my office, and the location is a small rental in the sticks No pre wired/cabled etc services available for wireless, so my hopes are that I can buy a lap top and run it from my wireless home computer, I'll be 1.1 miles from my house, does this work?? I've heard of sattellite wireless also? Technology is soooooooooooo beyond melol Any one with experience in this department please help, a computer nerd dh would come in handy right now, mine fixes a mean bike and glass of wine but shies away from these issues!
I thought you had to be much closer than that... within several hundred feet.........????
Wireless back to your house won't work... "No pre wired/cabled etc services available for wireless..." If there are wired services available (like cable or DSL) all you'd need is a wireless hub (<$80) to go wireless to your laptop. IF no cable or DSL available there are some other options: Verizon Wireless offers broadband Internet access in several areas of the country...however being the "sticks" you probably should check first. Direct PC offers broadband Internet via a small direct tv dish: http://www.direcpc.com/ And of course there is always a plain old dial up modem. Without knowing your budget it's hard to recommend further.
