Netflix
In an effort to control more of my kids TV we are considering getting rid of cable and going w/ netflix for our electronic stimuli We don't watch much TV, but I"m finding as the kids get older they tend to pause to long on programs I'd rather them not see as they are flipping to find something to watch, or for that manner just watching a commercial! Do any of you netflix? I signed up for the free trial, and the movies got here overnight! Just wondering how conveinient it is, or do you get lazy and keep the movies, don't watch them etc. TIA
I Netflix!!!! I love it! I have one movie I've had for 5 weeks simply because we haven't watched it due to everything going on right now. I am normally pretty good about sending them back right after we watch them. We started with the free trial, then had the 3-movie plan. After a few months we changed to the 5-movie plan. We usually have 5 out at any given time. It's incredibly convenient and I haven't rented a movie at the video store since I joined.
We have it too. I think it's wonderful. We keep 3 at a time and end up watching about 6-7 movies a month. Definitely better pricing than the video store.
LOVE IT!! we've been doing it since they first opened for business. I have noticed since they are more popular now, it sometimes takes a few more days than before to get movies. It used to be one, and now it is usually 2 sometimes 3 days.
We Netflix too! We love it. It is so nice to not feel the pressure to watch a movie in the 3 days or so you usually rent them, you keep it as long as you want. I have 3 movies that I have had for about 3 weeks. I like the fact that you can control what movies the kids watch instead of most of the crap on TV.
I hated Netflix, many problems with billing and stuff for me and a few friends who have had it. I have Blockbuster.com now, it's $14.99/mo for 3 out at a time, and it's been much better so far. (about 5 months)
I've had problems also. The DVDs are scratched or dirty and skip. Ame
I don't know. Hubby doesn't want to pay for Netflix, since our Blockbuster is less than a mile from our house! It takes just a moment to get tapes and to return tapes! So, I guess we do okay!
Dawn, Blockbuster.com has unlimited rentals for 14.99, and you get 2 free printable coupons for in-store rentals. It may actually work out to be cheaper if you rent a lot of movies, somethign to consider.
I do Blockbuster as well! CAN'T beat it! Just like Crystal said, $14.99 a month, unlimited rentals, 2 coupons for FREE rentals each month (including NEW RELEASES!). Much better than Netflix in my opinion.
I think I will look into Blockbuster!
DH keeps telling me to look into Blockbuster so he can use the 2 in store rentals to rent games for his PS2!!! LOL! Typical Marine! I keep wanting to switch but I just havn't yet!
Melissa, that's what we use our in-store rentals for. You should really try it, they have 2 free weeks so you can see if you like it. Also, blockbuster.com is considering adding online game rentals.
Ok, I'm going w/ blockbuster when dh and ds saw you can use them for games, it was a done deal and three bucks cheaper a month, can't beat that Thanks for the opinions, now if i could decide on what to make for dinner..............she says at 5:27PM
I did it, I switched to Blockbuster. I've noticed some of their movies have more of a wait than Netflix so hopefully that won't turn out bad later. Do they send you free in store rental coupons by mail or do you just go in?
You print them off their site. You'll receive an email saying "Your new coupons are ready". The waits usually turn out to be shorter than they say, except Disney Classics. The older Disney Movies have huge waits, but they just sent other movies on my que.
