Trivia Questions..need help fast
I'm filling out a trivia sheet for a bonspiel this weekend on Mardi Gras and I need your help. Mardi Gras trivia 1. What does Mardi Gras mean in French? 2. What is the nickname of New Orleans? 3. What dialect of French is most often associated with Louisiana? 4. What is the capital of Louisiana? 5. Who sang the battle of New Orleans? Drink Trivia for the following alcohols, name the plant origin 1. Beer 2. Whisky 3. Vodka 4. Gin 5. Tequila Name the drink that is created using the following ingredients 1. rum, coke, lime juice 2. galliano, vodka, orange juice 3. 7-up, Grenadine, Marachino cherries, orange slice 4. vodka, peach schnapps, chambord, cranberry juice, orange juice, pinapple juice 5. vodka, kahlua, coke, milk Thinking problems 1. A poor man met a rich man at a bar. The poor man, seeing how much money the rich man had in his wallet, went to the rich man and said, "I can sing every song in the world. You name a lady's name and "ll ssing a song with that name in it. If I succeed you must give me all the money in your wallet." The rich man agreed, thinking the man was being ridiculous, and the rich man said, "OK then. How about my daughter's name: Joanna Miller-Armstrong." The poor man sang his song and sure enough the rich man gave him all the money in his wallet. What song did the rich man sing? 2. On Valentine's Day in 1996, there was a snail (his name is Herb) at the bottom of an empty well that is 30 feet tall. The well had run dry, but it has slippery, moss-covered walls. So, during the day (he woke up at 6am), Herb was able to climb 3 feet up, but at night while he slept (he went to sleep at 10 pm), he slipped back down 2 feet. On what date did Herb get out of the well?
For thinking problem #1: Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, Happy birthday, Joanna Miller-Armstrong, Happy birthday, to you! For thinking problem #2: Valentine's Day is February 14th. That NIGHT, he reaches the 3rd foot mark.... and slips down to 1 foot. On the 15th, he reaches the 4th foot mark, and slips down to the 2 foot mark, etc.... In other words he would reach the 30th foot mark on the night of February, 41st.... but unfortunately... February doesn't have 41 days and since 1996 was a leap year, February had 29 days. So, "subtract" the 29 days (of February) from the 41, and we get 12. So, Herb reaches the 30th foot mark (the edge of the well) on the 12th.
number 1 thinking problem should be: the rich man did not sing a song the poor man did.
My2 Cuties...sorry, tying error..it should have read poor man sing?
kathy..I'm confused Why wouldn't it be the 13th of March. Would you add 30 to 14 to get 44 and then subtract 29

Paulas, I really have no clue. I found both of the answers online. ;)
Thanks for your help everyone. We didn't win the trivia contest. There were also some curling questions. I took the snail question a little too literal since I read online that snails are nocturnal and they hibernate so I figured Herb didn't climb anywhere during the day and he was probably hibernating on Valentine's Day 1996. Oh well.
