Cute St. Patty's treat!
We do this every year and my kids love the magic milkshakes that the leprechauns leave for them! Place a gold foil covered chocolate coin in the bottom of a glass. Place a couple of drops of green food coloring on the coin. Then cover the coin with a large scoop of vanilla ice cream. Pack it down fairly tightly. When it is time to eat/drink them, add half a cup of milk and stir! It starts out white, turns green, and the kids will find the coin when they finish drinking the milkshake. *Warning* These can get messy, but they are soooo much fun!
OH I will need to remember this for next year. My chef in training (10 year old daughter) made tonights meal: Chicken spinach parmesan peas Mashed potatoes--dyed green chocolate cupcakes frosted green I get such a kick out of her looking through cookbooks for new recipes to try. Of course she loves to torture Addison (he is not a fan of spinach though is getting better at eating it) but whatever the motives we are enjoying her cooking. Have a great St. Patrick's day! Enjoy your yummy treat!
Cori, I'm going to try this after dinner, but we couldn't find gold coins! I think the kids will still get a kick out of it!
