We ordered a Bowflex!!
We ordered the Bowflex Extreme XTLU. It will be here in about 7 weeks! I'm so excited. Dh has been going to the gym and that was costing us 30 per month, I could'nt join with him because of time and 60 dollars a month would have just not have been worth it. The Bowflex is cheaper and more convenient for us. We are going to put it in the computer room. We need to take out the lazy boy and the hope chest, and other little things then were going to put the computer on a smaller desk then we will have plenty of room for it. I've got 7 weeks to explain to my body that it's about to give up the junk food and start exercising. I've got about 35 pounds to lose, my dh has about 20 more to lose. He's already lost 25 by going to the gym. Making big purchases like that scares me to death. I remember years ago when we bought our first computer I was actually sick at my stomach by the time we left Office Depo. Last night after getting off the phone with the bowflex people I was actually shaking! LOL It comes shipped to us in 8 boxes!! We have to put it together..that should be a workout in itself!
That's exciting! Whenever we see the commercial for the boflex we always talk about wanting one. We have a nice treadmill and an ab lounge right now which I use regularly, and I love being able to work out at home. Have fun with it!
I have a bowflex from a couple of years ago and I LOVE IT. It feels sooooo good and I'm never sore like I was at the gym. Plu sit's portable and doesn't take up a lot of space. Enjoy it - before we had our dd (8mths.) we wanted to try to switch our workouts to home so we wouldn't be gone so much and the bowflex has been ideal. Yay for you!!
We are getting one when we get our tax refund.
Mara, if you don't mind my asking, what was the total cost? We let Nate's gym membership lapse because of cost, and there was no way we'd both be able to afford it, but I'd love to get a Bowflex this year. Let us know how you like it!
Our total cost before shipping is $1485,00. They put that on a bowflex credit card, and your min. monthly payment is $19 for 12 months. Then after 12 months they determine your payment by taking a percentage of the left over total. I can't remember exactally the percentage right now, but the lady on the phone said it would be less than $45 per month.
Mara, that is a big chunk of change...at first. However now the equipment is yours. Dh will be able to continue his workout regime...and you can, too. In the long run, you'll be saving money but losing inches! LOL Congratulations!
I was thinking of getting some type of exercise equipment but know nothing about them. I've never been to a gym. I usually do my exercise tapes. Are there different types of bowflex or is it a machine to use different ways. It wouldn't be bad to pay by the month. Also, I would need to find a place for it.
Yes, there are different types. The cheapest one is the Bowflex Sport which is only $16 per month. Every machine has many, many, different types of exercises that can be done on them.
CONGRATULATIONS!!! Sounds like you and DH are going to be "hotties" this summer with your "new physically fit bodies" good for you! M&M
