We just found the greatest website for girls at www.groovygirls.com

My dd(8) just started going on this site. It's great for that age.

You have a character that you pick skin tone, hair color, hair style, and you have a closet full of clothes that you can wear, and what they call a "mod pod" which is a bedroom that you can change around to suit your tastes.

Then you go to different "parties" where other girls that are on the site are, and you "chat" with them. Except, you are not allowed to type anything. There are drop down menus that you click on to say something, ask a question, or answer a question. But there is so much listed, that the girls can really have a lot of fun, and learn a lot about each other. Emily has "chatted" with girls from Mexico and Australia.

It is a great site and very safe and kid friendly.

I just bookmarked it for my oldest dd since she only gets time on the pc on the weekends. I'm sure she'll love it!
