I want to make his 30th Birthday really special. It isn't happening until July but I want it to awesome. One that he knows I spent along time planning. This will also be the celebration of half of our lives together. We have never been on an airplane, boat or family vacation so this would be the perfect oppurtunity to splurge. If you have gone anywhere fantastic please post. LOL :) Thanks in Advance!

My DH turns 30 in April and we are celebrating by a trip to San Antonio. It's a combination Happy 30th Birthday and Happy 5 yr anniversary together. It's also our first vacation away just the two of us... Hope you find something to do that's special.

I'm partial to Key West if you are looking for a vaca spot. There's tons to do for adults and kids, I went when I was 11 and still had a blast. My mom and step-dad were married there, and go every year, it's a really great laid-back place.

Funny, I have been to Key West many times and never thought of it as being kid friendly. (even had my kids on the last trip there)
How about a cruise?

By Palmbchprincess on Tuesday, February 15, 2005 - 05:18 pm:

Well, not kid friendly as in parks and rides, but we went to the Believe It or Not museum, Mallory Square, snorkling, boating, stuff like that. Maybe I was just an odd kid, I had a lot of fun. We were also there during the Battle of the Conch Republic, so there were festivites for that. (It's the end of April) I haven't been since I turned 21, but of course there's the "Duval Crawl" for adult partying. :)

Lordy, we went down to Key West a couple of years ago and I about died. Dd was just learning to read and she saw all those shirts in the stores!! The little street fair on the boardwalk in the evening was nice, but other than that, I wouldn't take her again!! Maybe we just didn't hit the right places??

What do you like to do together?

By Jann on Tuesday, February 15, 2005 - 05:33 pm:

I was there mid afternoon to dusk when I had my kids with me (a cruise), it's very different once the sun goes down! LOL

There is a beach on Freeport Grand Bahama Island that is the most romantic and beautiful place I've ever seen. We went several times and were always the only people in sight. Freeport is a fairly inexpensive place to vacation.

Look Here

The beach is called Gold Rock Beach. It's part of The Lucayan National Park and is protected by the National Trust. This beach is located east of the Island (about 25 miles from Freeport) and is secluded and spectacular at low tide. It can be accessed via tour bus or rental car. BBQ pits, picnic tables and benches are available, but no other amenities. North of the beach, across the road are the Lucayan Caverns, the world's longest underground surveyed cave system.

Charleston, SC is beautiful, beaches, historic, great restuarants and kid friendly!

Friends of ours just went on a cruise to Bermuda and absolutely loved it!!

I am partial to Paris as we got engaged there and celebrated our first anniversary there! Of course that was before we had dd and became instantly poor!:) LOL!

Wow,

All of these suggestions are great. Bea that is a lovely place.

Crystal,
Key West is fun from what I hear.
I don't think we will be bringing the children, I want to it to be romantic and kid free! LOL :)

How about Hawaii? On the Big Island of Hawaii is the Mauna Lani resort. You can stay in a villa there but still have all the amenities of the resort. They are just gorgeous. You can all sorts of space and it's so romantic. http://www.maunalani.com/
The Kapalua on Maui also has villas. http://www.kapaluamaui.com/index_flash.html
In July, while it would be warmer. You can rent wonderful villas in Mexico that come with a full staff for incredibly reasonable prices. You would be quite amazed. They will cook for you every night, most houses come with a pool too. Manzanilla is a gorgeous place.
