Ok so I am grumpy today and this is my pet peeve:

You decide to fill out a form online.

Type your name, k, Type your edress, gotcha, Type your address, yup, Type your city, can do.

THEN you have to go running for the mouse to click on the drop down to fill in your state. Whats up w/ that. We sat and typed all this info but they dont think that we can type our state abbreviation? So I figure I will just type OR (oregon) over the little box. First it sends up Ohio then Pennsylvania. GRRRRR, also birth year, do they think I need them to give me a drop box for that? I make more mistakes doing that than if I was typing.

I don't like them either. One of the things I don't like about them is that I have a scrolling mouse at home and work, and if I scroll down to the next box instead of tabbing, it often scrolls the answer in the drop down box I was just in. Which is often no big deal, but it happened once when I was making on-line hotel reservations for one of my bosses and I made the reservation for the wrong date. It got corrected, of course, but still ...

LOL, yes living in AL was easy.
I hate those boxes too. Some are smarter and let you type them in.
I hate it when I "tab" and it goes to all these random things, when all I really wanted to do was go to the next fill in box.
It's funny how our pet peeves change over time.

My real pet peeve is laziness/procrastination. I'll take a computer fill in box over that any day.

For the dropdown boxes, tab to that box and just hit the first letter of your state a few times. It will just pop in there. Like I hit "W" about 3 or 4 times. (Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, or whatever.) Then you don't need the mouse.

You can also hit the first letter, then the down key. I hit "T" which brings up TN, then once down to get TX. I hate filling out forms altogether, I'll double click to see if my computer will give me options instead of typing the word out!
