Sent DH on a scavenger hunt today
Scott, if you're reading this, it will ruin your surprise...no peeking! Since things have been tight lately, we are on a $10 budget for Valentine's day...so I had to be creative. I am sending him on a scavenger hunt for the gifts I bought him to make it fun. He first got a card (planted in his car last night...tee hee) telling him to go through the drive thru at Wendy's after he gets off work. He's picking up his favorite candy there...Reese's mini cups. Then, his next clue will send him to his favorite coffee store to pick up his favorite magazine (Men's Health). Then, his last destination before he comes home is a store that sells his favorite beer. I bought it today and decorated it with red decorations...then, he comes home! Yippee! THAT'S the best gift of all! Having DH home!
Hey I like the $10 budget idea myself! We do something similar at Christmas and it requires you to really think and get creative! Or search out great sales! lol Your scavenger hunt sounds cute. I hope he has fun. Thats a good idea and I will have to remember it! I made a treat bag and left it in my dh's truck last night. So he would have some candy to snack on at work today. I made him a card with conversation hearts--which is kind of corny. lol! Actually its pretty pathetic since I am not good with words. Oh wellll... I bought tickets to go see *Meet The Fockers* tonight and we are mtg some friends at the movies. Sounds like a real romantic film, eh?? lol Dh came home at lunch with a very pretty arrangement for me. It had 2 dz red roses and just as many white carnations. It is really pretty. He got it at Sam's Club. And to think I was ready to strangle him just last week.
LOL, Conni...that is so cute. You're right, it did force us to be creative and really put some effort into it. He had a great time on his scavenger hunt and came home all smiles! He's cooking us dinner now...the same meal he cooked for our first date...Chicken with red wine sauce...he's the best cook, ever. Glad to hear you had a great day too!!! It's the small things that matter...but those roses sound gorgeous!!! LOL!
