St. Petersburg area ideas
I'm traveling to Tampa/St. Petersburg area on Thursday. For two days a friend and I will be in the St. Petersburg area then we head to a friend's house in Sarasota for Saturday and Sunday. Anyway, any suggestions or hot spots we need to see. Ie: museums, exhibits, great restaurants, shops, etc. No kids will be with us so I'll skip the amusement parks this trip. What is a waste of time? Also what's the weather usually like this time of year? Do people wear high heeled boots with jeans or are they wearing more spring type fashions and footwear? Thanks

Annie, I live in St. Pete. Give me an idea on the type of things you enjoy. Feb is the BEST time of year here!!!! YOu are gonna love it! So much to do. The weather is nice now (but I am complaining about being cold--it's about 54 now, so that is warm for northerners). I have an 8am dr appt today, so I will post again. Are kids coming? And dress.....be casual! Wear walking shoes, bring shorts and light shirts and have light long pants and a long sleeve shirt and sweater. A "cold front" is coming in. I'll have to look to see the date of the temp changes. I'll be back on line later.
The sunken garden sounds interesting and we have plans to go to the Dali museum. No kids! Just me and a high school girl friend. We arrive Thursday afternoon and will leave Sat. am. Our motel is the Ramada Inn Mirage on 34th Street. Is that in a good area or should we move somewhere else? If that is not in a good area can you recommend a motel/hotel for about $60 a night. I do prfer a hotel. Any recommendations for dinner either night? Are people wearing sandals yet? Sat and Sun. another friend wants to hang by her parents' pool. They live in Madeira Beach. Do you think this will be a possibility? My friends are coming from MA so I'm sure they'll be at the pool even if the weather is in the 50's. LOL Thanks everyone and looking forward to hearing back from you Dana.
