Emotional 3 year old
I need to know how everyone else's children this age act when it comes to movies... My little Katelyn will cry at an emotional part in a movie if it's happy or sad or whatever, example, In Stuart Little when his "parents" come to get him and take him away from the Little's she cries and I have to pause the movie and talk to her and tell her that she knows what happens at the end. She cries at the end of the Little Mermaid because she was happy. Do I have one emotional daughter or is this normal, maybe she isn't ready for these types of movies. She laughs, she cries, it obviously moves her..
I have a dd who is just a little more emotional than most, I think. She cries at the sad parts of movies and even cries during sad parts of a book. I think some children are just more in tune with this type of thing. I give her a hug, remind her that there is a happy part coming up, and we move on. I try not to dwell on it or let her dwell on it. I'm sure puberty is going to be a hoot when these girls get old enough!
My dd AND my ds were like this! Not so much anymore,(they're 14 and 11 now!)but when they were little, they would cry at happy and sad places in movies...not "boo-hooing," but definitely moved to tears!
My 2.5 y/o DD is very emotional. Not so much at movies/stories but just very weepy. "Mads, put on your pants." can bring her to tears. I'm told it's just the age, I guess we'll see.
My sister was just like that. She cried at every single movie that was SLIGHTLY sad. It was cute, and she is still a little more emotional today.
