Leappad Learning System Question
My DD has the green and blue one and I HATE it. The green wire from the pen rises UP into the book and makes turning the pages VERY difficult and frustrating. Do others have this awful arrangement? It's so stiff and cumbersome and there is no getting it out of the way without HOLDING it out of the way. It plugs into the pad from the top of the pen holder. If only it plugged in from the BOTTOM of the pen holder it wouldn't be in the way. Arrrgghhhhh!!! I have a feeling they have redesigned it and I have a leftover dud.
My DD has the pink and purple one and it is designed the same way (She got it two years ago). She hasn't complained about it though. Hmmm. I guess she just holds it out of the way. It is a dumb design. We also have the Fisher Price one that you just touch with your finger. I thought it would be better, but my youngest DD misses the pen-Go Figure! Kids!
Okay, Meredith, you wanted to play the 'Glad Game'. Well, *I* am glad that I unscrewed the small section of the Leappad that is the pen holder. I am glad I then pulled the wire down and further inside so that the half inch, hard, unmovable section of the wire is now INSIDE and UNDERNEATH the pen holder part and now only the more flexible wire part sticks out. I am glad that this has helped in solving the problem. I am glad the pen still reaches all areas of the book.
Too funny! I'm 'glad' you found a solution. By the way, doesn't glad sound like such a weird word when you say it?
We have the Leappad and my DS never said anything about the cord. He does get a little frustrated when he trys to put the pen away and the cord is all over the place but other than that he really loves it.
We had green/blue one for 2yrs then gave it to our GS, we got DSD a quad leap pad she love it, shes had it over a year.We NEVER had any problems with either one. Love BOTH!!
