when are the times cats are in heat i mean are their certain months and how do they act when they are? If anyone can help that would be great..We just had to put our boy cat outside to cool down because he was chasing one of the females around and hurting her. Also if you get them fixed will it take that away are they still like a man and want it anyways lol = ) ...i know they probably still do but i thought i would ask anyways lol...

If not spayed before puberty female cats go into heat monthly like clockwork. They will howl and howl and howl and become lovable and frisky. If my memory serves me correctly, they stay in heat for about a week OR until they spend some time with an intact male, if you KWIM.

If not neutered before puberty (6-9 mos.) male cats will begin to spray their territory. Once they are neutered most cats will stop spraying but there is a slight chance they will continue to do so. The sexual urges are usually suppressed once neutered. Or so I've been told. Occasionally our cat Andy mounts Mandy, but not often. LOL!

When cats are in heat the female meows a lot and always is stucking her butt in the air. We always had cats when I was growing up and that is what our females would do. After getting our female cats fixed they hated male cats coming near them. One of our cats would beat the living you know what out of a male after getting fixed. I have also heard to get male cats fixed otherwise they will run away and not return. Hope this helps.

Okay so are the males the aggressive ones usually because silly is the male and he's like chasing presh around and hurting her. She's now hissing at him and spatting at him i don't know for sure how old they are i can't remember when we got them from Danny's grandparents house and exactly how old they were then..Also would the male be interested in a younger kitten hopefully not because as far as i'm assuming the kitten we got that was outside the house is pretty young.I think we got is younger than the other two..I will have to look into how much it costs to fix him up..

Yes, the males are aggressive. Cats go into their first heat at a pretty early age (for cats) and he will be after her right away. If your vet will agree to neuter him I'd do it right away. Check with your SPCA to see if they do it at a lower cost or know some lower cost program. And, you should get the females spayed too, as soon as you can. Otherwise you will have monthly noise and aggravation and sooner or later one of them will get out and you will have kittens.

My son says cats go into their first heat anywhere from age 5 months to 8 months.

I had my male cat neutered and he still liked to go out and prowl around, but he always came home at night (except once, he was gone for three days, but never again). I had my female cat spayed and she never exhibited any of the "presenting" behavior, nor yowling. Even if you keep your un-spayed female inside, it's only a matter of time before she gets out accidentally, and it takes just a minute to get her in trouble! Spaying and neutering is really the best thing, IMHO.
