Wandering eyes..
I ran across an ad for maternity clothes and had to see what you all thought, I do not like the ad, but dh thinks it is hilarious. I knew sex sell everything but I never thought it would sell maternity clothes....what is your opinion, or am I being to sensitive?
I am w/ your dh I think it IS funny, whoo hoo baby LOL.....
I think it's really funny, too. My dh thinks pregnant women are some of the sexiest things on earth so I'm sure he would love this ad. I think she looks beautiful and I know I would have liked to have gotten a look like this when I was feeling like a whale.
OMG I hate this ad!! It was all over a few months ago, and I kept saying "Am I the only one who is offended by that?" (I'm NOT easily offended, but this is just sad!) It wouldn't offend me if it weren't a man with his date/gf/wife checking out the pregnant woman, but it's disrespectful since he is with someone. I really love Motherhood, but they lost some respect IMO with this campaign!
I think it's funny = ) and cute too..of course my husband looks at alot of women anyways lol as long as he doesn't touch that's fine with me but i love giving him a hard time about it lol...
My X thought women were sexiest when they were pregnant. Go figa! That ad doesn't really offend me. After all, women *do* want to be thought of as sexy, even when they are pregnant.
Crystal, I find it offensive too.
I think its funny. I think it just shows how pregnant women can be sexy and beautiful.
It's interesting how he's *behind* her. LOL Once she turns around, he might not be so interested! It does play upon a woman's need to feel attractive when she's swollen, hairy legged, and heavy.
Crystal that is exactly WHY it offended me.
I see both sides. It feels great to *feel* sexy while being pregnant. I remember a few guys staring at me when I was and in my mind I felt great that I still looked good. But then on another hand, it is a bit disrespecful for a guy to be gawking at a pregnant woman. After all, chances are she *is* taken, lol! And it was her and another man that gave her that baby, not the guys gawking at her. My DH too, thinks pregnant women are the sexiest thing to walk the Earth! (Not in a "gawking" way either, he just admires their new found beauty)
Personally, I'm all for maternity clothes that make you feel sexy once in awhile! Back when I was pregnant (15 years now), it seemed the only clothes out there had little Peter Pan collars and bows at the neck...my best friend commented that it was so people wouldn't think you'd done what it took to get pregnant! LOL My dh thought I was incredibly sexy when I was expecting, so who am I to argue? I needed all the positive vibes I could get.
I think pregnant women are sexy. I don't mind the add at all.
I find it irritating purely because of the guy checking out woman #2 when he's with woman #1. I didn't even notice that woman #2 was pregnant until I read the headline, tell you the truth - I was immediately irked by the guy's leering expression. Also, I hate that saying "It's Hot!" Isn't that what Paris Hilton always says? She drives me crazy. IMHO, two thumbs down. If this ad is designed to appeal to pregnant women - well, I can only speak from my own experience but I do NOT relate to that pregnant woman.
LOL ! She doesn`t even look pregnant !
I think it is ridiculous !!When I was pregnant, feeling sexy was FAR from my mind.Don't get me wrong,I still wanted sex.But I wanted to be cuddled, pampered, made to feel special and secure.Sexy was what I felt GETTING pregnant, all the above mentioned was what I felt WHILE I was pregnant. My then DH,the father of my 3 kids, always said pregnant women were the most BEAUTIFUL women in the world. And I agree about the picture;it makes me sick to see a man gawk at woman when he's with another woman!
LOL, Janet! We had the same maternity clothes! I look back now and wonder what I was thinking to have a giant red bow around my neck?! Personally, the ad doesn't offend me. I think it's funny. And from what it sounds like, those who are offended would be offended whether she's pregnant or not? So I guess that's not really the issue here.
I see both sides as well. If the guy weren't with a date, I wouldn't have a problem with it. I'm not offended by it though. The preggo outfit is pretty cute! I would probably wear it if it were a longer (it looks short short!). The top of it is cute though. My DH swears that pregnant women are super sexy too I loved to dress cute and trendy when I was pregnant. There are so many fun maternity clothes out there now.
And, as if all pregnant women looked like her. What bothers me is the way unrealistic beauty is always better than normal beauty. Of course pregnant women look beautiful, but come on! how many women look like that when pregnant, i looked like a right balloon! And also, i agree with what was said, he shouldn't be looking at other women, he is with someone, and she certainly doesn't look too happy that her man is looking at a "hot" pregnant chick.
