I have an emachine and at any given time it just shuts down and restarts. Does anyone know what could be causing this?

We have an emachines and we don't have any problems with it. We have the windows Xp edition, but when we had Windows ME it gave us nothing but trouble we got rid of it and bought this one new last year and don't have a bit of trouble. What edition do you have? That could be your problem, just a thought..I am no smarty on the computer myself.

"simply put the windows xp cd in and then restart and it proably will boot off the cd right there and just follow the instructions on the screen but be sure to hit the option where it says *delete partion* then format and install XP on this partion, delete all if theres more than 1 "
