Disneyland and seaworld california question
We have free tickets to SeaWorld SanDiego courtesy of my dh's work. My question is, how long of a drive is it from SeaWorld area to Disneyland area? Is that too much to fit into a week? Will we need more like 10 days? We have 2 days at SeaWorld. This will be in the early summer, so I'm sure everything will be packed. We will be flying from WA to CA and renting a vehicle.
I didn't say that we don't mind moving hotels in the middle of the trip, which I'm sure would be necessary?
It's about a 2 - 21/2 hour drive from Sea World to Disneyland depending on traffic. We live about 45 minutes from Sea World and about an hour from Disneyland.
That is longer than I expected. This will be our first time in Southern California so I don't know what to expect. I guess if we just used a "down day" to travel and maybe do some shopping. That could get us from point A to point B. My daughter is so excited of the thought of going to disneyland. We are researching hotels and such online. That is so cool that you live so close to both of them. Do you go alot?
I'm live about the same distances from both as Andi does. San Diego has so much to do that i'd just hang around there for your time here. The 5 freeway can be excruciating at times, especially if your not used to traffic. Theres also Legoland, the Zoo, the Wild Animal Park, downtown, Coronado, Tijuana. Enjoy it here, I sure do!
We will be going to Disneyland next month to celebrate my DS turning 4! We are going a month after his Birthday but that is the only time we could fit it in. Here is what I would do if I were you, assuming it is a 7 day vacation. I'm sure this seems like alot to do and it is, but these are just ideas so you know all your options..... Day One: Rest and enjoy San Diego. Go to the beach, walk on the Boardwalk in Mission Beach and go to Belmont Park. www.belmontpark.com Day Two: Go to Sea World. You can easily do the whole park in one full day. In the summer they are open late and have a Fireworks show that is well worth the wait. If you want to do two days I'm sure you will have a great time both days, you won't be bored. Day four: Start your drive to Disneyland. On your way up there stop in North County, my neck of the woods. You can go to the Outlet Center and do some shoppping and have lunch: http://www.premiumoutlets.com/outlets/outlet.asp?id=66 You can also go to Legoland if you want... www.legoland.com That is alot of fun and well worth the money if you have children between the ages of 4-10. On day 4 when you finally arrive in Anaheim where Disneyland is located. Check into your hotel room and spend the rest of the evening in Down Town Disney: http://disneyland.disney.go.com/disneyland/en_US/moreMagic/landing?name=DowntownDisneyLandingPage Get a good night sleep and on day Five: Do DISNEYLAND!!! Spend the whole day there...trust me you will need it. On day Six: Go to California Adventures. That is a whole other theme park next door to Disneyland and an extra ticket but if you have the extra day it would be fun to do. Then on Day Seven drive back to San Diego and head home. Hope those ideas helped...... If youwant some brochures from some of the local places I can try to pick them up and mail you some, just let me know.
I love san diego. You can see the seals there lying on the beach. There is an aquarium that is very nice too. Sea world.
You can collect sea creatures in the tidal pools!
We are going to California for our vacation this summer. We are planning on spending 3 days in San Diego. Then, we are driving to Disneyland for 2 days and then we are going to stay with my brother in Santa Monica. If you want to do Disney along with San Diego, I would definitely split up your trip and stay part of the time in San Diego and then drive to Aneheim and spend part of the time at Disney. Andi has given you great suggestions. One thing about Disney. It is very crowded on the weekends. If you can arrange your trip and go during the week, it would be better.
Some times you can change your tickets for 75 dollars a person and leave from the other area. Call the airline and see how much it would cost. You can fly in to san diego and fly out of the other area. See how much it cost on expedia.com One day is enough at Sea world. You can do the whole park in one vist.
Wow, thanks for all the information! I'm going to check out those sites that were listed. We are flying into SanDiego. I guess we can see how much it would be to fly out of Anaheim, or somewhere over there.
