Happy Day
Yesterday my brother had brain surgery to remove damaged areas in his brain that is causing him to have epilepsy. My Mom just called to say that he is now awake & asking her to rub his head becasue it hurts. He has 30 staples in his head. I have had this guilt about my brothers epilepsy because when I was in 5th grade we were in an accident on my bike. He had massive head trauma & died 3 times on the flight for life to a bigger hospital. I am so glad that this maybe the end of this chapter in his life. It has really caused him to not be able to live a full life. He had them under control for a while, but for the past 9 years they have been out of control, the doctor said that it was slowly killing him. Anyway that is why I haven't been around much...it has just been crazy here with getting Phillip ready for surgery, the holiday's, Olivia's 1st birthday, & my sister's biopsy on Friday. I have missed you all. Now I need to go clean so more.
That is great I am glad he is doing well! Hope your sister does well on Fri. I will keep them both in my prayers!
Let us know how both are doing.
Hope he continues to improve. I used to work in rehab/acute care with head trauma and it is a long hard road to recovery. Maybe this surgery will end the seizures and enable him to continue to progress.
Hi Emily...good news and hope his recovery is swift! Keep us updated!
That's great news!
I'm so glad to hear that he is on the road to recovery. What a load of responsibility to carry on your shoulders for such a long time. Give yourself a hug from me and put this behind you.
I'm glad he is recovering. I hope everything works out well!
Emily I am truly glad for you and your brother. Please don't have guilt for this! There's no saying that the epilepsy came from the head trauma he suffered. My late SIL suffered from horrible seizures that had no relation to head trauma of any kind. It could always be a coincidence.
