Proud Mama!

Well I wasn't sure to put this in general or parenting. So its in general hope thats Ok.

Anyhow I'm very proud of my daughters. When we go to the store if they have been good they usually get a quarter to spend on the pony or a piece of bubblegum from a machine. Anyhow at the end of our trip to Sams Club they have one of those things you drop the coins in and it swirls around and around until it drops down in a hole. This is for Childrens Medical Center the girls always chose to do this because its fun to watch the coins, they even pick this over bubblegum. Well on this particular trip there was a small jar set up next to the "fun swirly thing" for Tsunami relief funds. I explained to both of them what it was and gave them their quarters and told them they could chose what to do.

They BOTH chose the little jar, which had no "perks" if you will for them. I was very proud, brought some tears to my eyes! LOL - I'm so sensitive sometimes! So because of their unselfish decision DH and I gave them some pennies for the swirly thing.

My oldest DD did it without thought. My youngest had to think about it for a minute and I have to say I was truly surprised with her decision.

Anyhow just wanted to share!

Pixie your not sensitive, just a proud mama and you should be. I think we all like to think that we have raised our children the right way to do the right thing, and a lot of us have but it jsut does your heart good to have them prove this to you. And dotto to yu and your husband for giving them the pennys that was wonderful on your part adn also another lesson for your girls, that no unselfish deed goes unnoticed.
