Canadian/Canadien Moms
My DH just sold something on Ebay to a guy in Canada and the guy just wrote back and, at the end, wrote "DOUM"...what does that mean?
No idea! Was the Canadian guy French-speaking?
I looked it up and doum palm came up , and it is some kind of oblong fruit. Sounds wierd to me. I am canadian and I have never heard of that before. I would write the guy back and just ask him, that way you know for sure. I am wondering if the guy is a different nationality and maybe that is a thankyou in a different language. Grasping at straws here! If you find out let us know.
I have no idea either and I speak "Maritime...ese"
I did a search on French Google and it seems to be some kind of colloquial expression or exclamation (it's used a lot for emphasis or on forms for some reason). No idea what it means. Anyone out there speak Quebecois???
When I did a Canadian google, it kept coming up as something musical. I have a French Canadian friend, but it seems she's off line. I'll leave her an e, and she'll get back to me in the am.
This guy is really weird...got really mad when my DH couldn't get it out in 24 hours. It's only a video game for pete's sake! I do think he's french-canadian...I don't think he wants to ask the guy...his correspondence has been too strange. We were just curious. Thanks for asking other people...this one had us stumped after we did a google search.
Maybe he meant to say 'doom' but spelled it wrong? Trying to be mysterious and ominous? I'm a Canuck too (maritimer as well Paula) and never, ever heard of 'doum'
My French Canadian friend said she's never heard of it. Maybe it's just one of the net short forms, like DH, etc??? Something that's used on EBAY?
I'm Cdn and never heard this. Could it be the guy's initials?
We think it's a self-acclaimed nickname or something...his name is Dominic, but apparently the chicks just call him DOUM...LOL!
ROFL!
