Wednesday Weigh In
Moms View Message Board: Let's Get Fit! (Weight Loss Support Group): Wednesday Weigh In
I know it's not Wednesday today, but I wanted to go back to weighing myself weekly and actually posting it. I've been keeping track of my activity, or lack thereof, and my weight loss. So, I will be starting anew. Yesterday's results, etc: Previous Weight = 152.8 Loss = 0 New Weight = 152.8 I know I didn't lose, but I also didn't gain. Until next week.
Its so great your starting. I need more movement also. I don't weigh myself more than once per month but definitely need encouragement to increase healthy fun exercise.
I made a great little discovery in a nearby park. They have a trail! I walked a bit of it today with ds #2 just to check it out. I'm definitely going to incorporate it into my exercise plan. I have just come to terms with the fact that I will have to wake up early if I'm going to get any kind of uninterrupted workout. Sigh. I do want to look cute again!
Yeah - you made it to a trail and walked on it. I'm a big believer in progress not perfection. Anything you can do with your little guys improves your chance to do it more. But I understand you'll get more actual "exercise" if you can do it alone and early. Your challenging me to greater action. We actually live near many trails and people come from all over the world to explore them but I am still timid. I need to find granny trails where you really can't get too lost and where potential for encounters with serious wildlife is reduced. Also I do better with short - I'm not prepping for a triathalon - I just need steady movement for a reasonable period of time but easy in -easy out.
Those were my fears, too, with the trails. We live close to a state park. This city has lots of trails but I was always too chicken to try them. That's why I'm so excited about the one I just found! I only saw a few butterflies, a stinkbug, and some squirrels. That's about the level of wildlife I can handle. LOL I actually found a map (somehow) of our cities trails. It tells you the levels and locations. Maybe your city has one?
Well it was over 90 again today until mid evening so walking wasn't my first choice but there was a field day in the park for my little guy's school. It was actually a belated earth day celebration. They flew tons of kites and had a blast but I also got some exercise walking to and from the park and running around the fields in between untangling kites. There is a local hiking organization and I will see if they have some easy hikes with limited wildlife exposure. Thanks for the suggestions.
Ok, accountability time. Sunday = 30 min. hike/walk Monday = 300 jumping jacks, 10 min. moderate dancing Tuesday = 400 jumping jacks so, Previous Weight = 152.2 New Weight = 154.4 Loss = (-) 2.2 Hmmm. I've increased my activity, so what happened???
Maybe it is muscle? I swear the more I exercise the more I eat so I don't understand it it. I used to lose 10 pounds in the summer every year and gain 10 in the winter. Now I am the same all year long. I did lose five pounds with not effort using fiber drink. Kept it off too. The fiber drink filled me up alot. You drink a huge glass of water with it. Gave me more energy too.
Hi Enchens, Hopefully you did better than I did this week. Somehow my little guy not feeling well and some important celebrations co-opted good weather. I will commit to trying to spend at least a couple of hours outdoors in motion this week. How'd you do? Linda
152.6 lbs this week. 152 seems to be the number my body wants to keep. It's most definitely not the number I want, nor the shape. I want to have a bikini bod, just like in the magazines! LOL In truth, I just want to be thinner so my clothing fits and I want to be fit so I could keep up with my little ones. Health benefits aren't a bad reason, either. ;)
Weigh in today... 153 lbs. I promise I did exercise. I've joined an online website that helps me track my fitness goals and even sets up my exercise plan. I like it so far.
Yeah you perservered. Are you OK with staying the same and not gaining. Thats valuable in itself. If you want to lose, have you considered a low carb or high level of veggies food plan. Sometimes that breaks the stalemate?
I am ok with not gaining. I do want to lose the weight, I actually have to. But starting slow is ok with me. Like I mentioned, the website I found starts me off really, really slow. The whole point is to stick with the program, so it makes it easy until I get into the habit of exercising consistently. As far as diet, believe me, I've nearly cut out a lot of carbs. I control my portions. I've made a list of my weakness foods and provided substitutes for them. For example, if I crave chips, I eat light popcorn. If I really want some ice cream, I'll have frozen yogurt. If I want something sweet, I eat some fruit. I don't drink soda-I mix half a glass of light juice with half a glass of carbonated water. Swapped yogurt for sour cream, stuff like that. I know I'll see results if I keep at it. Staying the same just shows me that my diet changes are helping.
This post is a repeat of the 6th. Current weight= 152.6lbs. I really think my scale is broken. lol On the upside, I notices a pair of slacks I wore yesterday were a little less snug. The slacks I wore on Sunday were less snug as well. I think you might be right, Feona. It might be muscle. Those "easy" exercises I've been doing have me so sore! I do have to work more on cardio. Just can't seem to get into that portion of the exercise program. I'm fine with the strength training. Well, let's see what the scale says next week.
Sorry asleep on the support job - How's it going????
Well, thank you for asking. That's very nice of you. So here's the news: I STILL WEIGH THE SAME! The scale is not moving. Though I did get a comment from dh last night. He said, "wow, hon, you're looking more toned." Dh got me a portable cycling machine and I've been doing that when I am sedentary. I've also started a Masala Bhangra video and it's so much fun. It also burns more calories than the belly dancing. So, I'm keeping up the activity level, which is good. But seriously, when am I going to see the scale go down?
