Sigh...
Did you see that they make Low Carb Pecan Delights and the new Atkins Endulge Chocolate Low Carb Ice Cream?
Feona, I was late getting to my lunch today. (Syd is super sick and was throwing up, fever, not fun!) So, I finally ate some of my salad with bacon and avocado. But, then the rest of the day, I just had cravings. Tonight, I had a terrible craving for chocolate. I almost whipped up a batch of "lower" not low carb fudge with cream cheese. LOL! So, what worked for me. I mixed a bit of cream cheese, with sweetener and a little heavy cream.(Cream cheese frosting) I slathered some on one of my low car muffins. (my muffins are tiny-btw)Not great, but could have been a whole candy bar or a bag of chips! LOL!
LOL, Eve. I sent you an e-mail earlier that got bounced back to me telling you I was having terrible cravings for chocolate!! Are we on the same wavelength or what? I ended up sucking on a chocolate chip. Surprisingly, one was all I needed! Phew! LOL.
I am going to buy some low carb ice cream and a few low carb candy bars. I got caught in the rain and I think that is what caused the "ice cream" craving. It wasn't too much of a craving so I didn't cheat. I have no will power so that is something. Still losing at 1/2 a pound a day. That is motivation. Down 4 and a half pounds. I don't think this 1/2 a pound a day loss is going to keep up. Too werid. Too easy...
You know I could have had alittle fresh made whipped cream. I don't know if that would have worked. By the way the Berries are great. I have been having a small bowl Strawberries and blueberries! Everything tastes so sweet. I am usually so "not" a fruit eatter. I have been told as soon as you don't eat sugar for a while your taste buds perk up on the natural sweetness of fruit.
I read in Atkins book that the cravings for carbs OR hunger in general are due to insufficient fat intake for the carbs you are consuming. Skipping your meal or eating reduced servings can have a similar effect. Since you've switched the body over to burning fat (mostly your own) reducing the fat in your diet is like shutting off the main fuel supply. Since you've already shutoff the supply of carbs and now the supply of fat disappears the body thinks it's starving! Interestingly, Atkins says that the GREATER your fat intake (as a percentage of carbs) the MORE you will lose since it keeps your metabolism high.
