Giving Up The Soothie

I forgot how difficult it was!!! We've been crying for 45 minutes and I don't hear any change in the tone yet We thought we'd start with the nap first and if he doesn't sleep then he'll be to tired to fight it tonight.Gosh,I'm feeling ALOT of guilt right now.
He will be fine just remember that...yes it is hard but it can be done = )
BTDT! Natalie's withdrawal didn't start until a few days in though, so I thought we were good to go. Wrong! Hang in there. I know it's tough.
What's a soothie?
I think they are talking about a pacifier. Does he really have to give it up now? I don't think I would be strong enough to withstand 45 minutes of crying!
No advice here. I just wanted to say good luck with it.
Within 2 minutes of writing my thread,he fell asleep for 2 hours!!and he woke up happy. We gave them all new stuffed puppies a couple of weeks ago so now they're starting to take to them.I put them to bed 15 minutes ago and I can hear them all on the baby monitor barking lol. They should carry on for another 10 minutes and then start to drift off.Hopefully tonight is better than naptime.
That's good! They were all barking for their dogs? How cute!
O.k.......all is good I've had two sleeping since 7:15 and A has been sleeping for 1/2 hour now.I'm crossing my fingers and toes that I don't hear from them until the usual at 7:15am.I'm soooo happy that all of them are sleeping now.Katie is reading and her light will go out in 15 minutes and I'm happy that her brother won't keep her up Here's hoping that all stays the same lol
fingers crossed for you = )
Good luck to you.. I know its hard. We still let Faith use hers at bedtime. It stays in her bed when she gets up. She has been such a horrible sleeper all her life, and anything that helps her sleep we dont mind. She is 2 1/2. The other kids had theirs at bedtime until they were 3.
He did GREAT!! He was up at 6:45 this morning and slept right through the night I put a new book in his bed when I went to bed and it helped for when he woke up early. His brothers woke up at the usual time.If it continues like this I'll be ok.lol. When we took Katie's soothie away she was talking sentences,I found it more difficult when I had to verbalize to her on why she couldn't have it.I didn't want to do it that way again.lol.With A he asked for his soothie a couple of times and I told him it was broken and that he's a big boy with lots of extra hugs and kisses. He's not talking sentences and he can't tell me how sad he feels.I felt awful when Katie told me she was sad and she missed her soothie soooo much.My heart can't handle that again lol
awesome glad to hear he did well = )
I suppose there really isn't a good way to get rid of them!
